3.0 good | SingForTheDead | October 1st 13 | While I took three listens to let it fully sink in, it finally clicked and really works as an entirely new sound for P!ATD. I can see myself easily listening to this on shuffle with the rest of their diverse discography in no time.

3.5 great | MadBaron | February 21st 15 | The closest to mainstream electropop Panic has ever gotten: Autotuned vocals, the hip-hop pastiche of "Miss Jackson", the burping dubstep-esque synths on "Casual Affair", the wordless hooks that consist of mere syllables all scream Top 40... But despite all of these seemingly conventional pop elements Panic makes it work and adds their unique touch to it. The autotune is used tastefully, and does not detract from Brandon's vocals. There is a strong 80's synthpop influence that is apparent through the whole album, lots of cool old school synth effects. The addition of strings, weird Sesame Street samples and strutting New Wavey basslines adds a unique touch. The lyrics rarely succumb to the same corniness that mired their last release and seem to have partially returned to that smirking, sardonic wit of their first album.

3.5 great | NorwichScene | October 4th 13 | Excellent album! 80's electronic vibe throughout with some of the best songs this year in 'Vegas Lights' and 'Far Too Young to Die'

3.5 great | Furik | October 1st 13 | I'm extremely impressed with this album. Granted everyone is missing their "Fever" sound but this new sound fits them so well. Taking notes from their "Vices" album and leaving behind everything else, they have created a truly new sound that works well. I'm only on my first listen with the album but I am certain this is going to be my driving-to-work album for the majority of the fall.

3.5 great | MrSnuffles | September 30th 13 | I know the stream was only posted about 40 minutes ago, but I'm really digging the sound. There are some real standout hooks on here, and it has a great atmosphere that Vices and Virtues didn't really have. Rating might change upon further listens.

2.0 poor | GoldenGuy444 | October 9th 18 | Stale production, harsh vocals, and dull song writing make this a hard sell. While some tracks are interesting "Vegas Nights" and "Casual Affair" most are by the numbers dance pop, and not very good dance pop at that.

3.5 great | FTM1234 | September 16th 18 | I did like this album a lot, but a few of the songs halfway through are pretty mundane and boring.rI'd hugely recommend:rThis is GospelrMiss JacksonrGirls/Girls/Boys rThe End of All Things.rThose four songs are easily the best, the others are good, but still pretty average. It's worth listening to those four though

2.5 average | itsagift | February 23rd 16 | in some ways this is their worst album. i dislike fever, but it had that youthful energy and some really unique lyrics/sounds. this album is sort of like if chicago tried to make a panic! cover album. i will always have a soft spot for panic! but this is a low point. rrating: 4 bisexuals out of 10

4.5 superb | 3waycrash | January 12th 16 | Panic! delve further into their electronic side with an album full of thick synth parts, altered vocals through vocoders, spoken audio samples, and electronic beats. The band wanted to pay tribute to their roots in Las Vegas, and they succeed with a new but fitting sound. The catchiness and hooks are still here just with an almost 80's inspired backdrop.

3.0 good | Jared Floryan | October 4th 14 | Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!, as a pop record which veers damn close to mainstream territory, is a bit of an interesting gem. As a Panic! At the Disco album, it's pretty odd to have Brendon Urie surrounded by vintage electronics and a little retro approach. For what it's worth, however, this still manages to be more than just acceptable if you've already heard of Save Rock and Roll by the group's friendly rivals in Fall Out Boy.

4.0 excellent | AshleyXRiot | April 18th 14 | Let me start by saying that Panic! at the disco is my childhood band (since I was 13 I listened to them) and as I was growing up they grew up too. From the emo-punk sound of A Fever You Can't Sweat Out to the nostalgic aura of Pretty Odd and passing to a sort of comeback to the punk-pop scene with Vices and Virtues, Panic! At the disco (sometimes without the !) experimented changes that always made them interesting for a newer audience and their all time die hard fans... And that brings me to their newest change and their newest album "Too weird to live, too rare to die".
Their new album is all about Brendon Urie, the lead vocalist and the only remaining founder member of P!AtD, like in previous work he tells a sort of story into the songs mixing lyrics and sounds to create an ambience. And it delivered fantastically! You can understand some views of him regarding love, abandonment and compromise and their negative counterparts. The album is that, Brendon's Urie concience singing his memories and thoughts.
But what about the sound of the album? is it catchy? fast? slow? Let's say it varies from song to song, but most of them are upbeat and danceable songs and the interpolation between instruments and voice is very well done so you'll never try to figure it out what he said. But if it's have to be reduced to a genre, it draws heavily on pop and electro sounds.
Instruments now! This album range from a heck of a lot of instrument played into each song! We have songs where the drums are the main thing ("girls/girls/boys"),another where the synth and electro sounds are really heavy ("Far too young to die"), the piano and orchestra like instruments (cello, violin, etc) are the main protagonists ("The end of all things") and finally the song where it fuse almost every instrument and sound forming into one ("Casual Affair") awesome and very creative song.
P!AtD was always a stapple of creativity and transformation, and this studio album shows the fruits of a genius musician after all the things happened.
In conclusion:It keeps impressing... And that's the most important thing.

3.0 good | iGuter | October 7th 13 | It's not as good as some would have hoped, but it's still a solid and enjoyable album from P!AtD.

2.5 average | luizfmaf | October 3rd 13 | When I first heard Miss Jackson, I said to myself "Please, the world doesn't need another
'Save Rock and Roll'... Fall Out Boy already destroyed a good part of my early teens musical
memories". But I guess this is kind of a solid pop record. Just not something I'd listen to.

Bump |
3.5 great | ThomasTheCure | October 1st 13 | it's not as similar to fall out boy's new album as i expected, with more '80s influenced
tracks and electronics, but i honestly think its higher forgettability makes it worse, "this
is gospel" aside. otherwise, it's a mediocre pop album. not much more to say about it.
