Props to the engineer and whatever autonomous autobot worked on this, because they've literally stripped every single shred of life out of the instruments. This thing is produced within a fucking inch of its life. Also, gotta love the strings in the opening track - that's some true Michael Bay-esque cock-tugging there, making me think something epic might actually happen. Also we get it, you have a theremin, that doesn't mean you look any less like an idiot when you slap the air around it every 5 seconds

Although it was so brilliantly fine - the blue sky powdered with gold and great spots of light like white wine splashed over the Jardins Publiques - Miss Brill was glad that she had decided on her fur. Tomorrow We Die Alive is an album full of Point A's that never really reach any true Point B's. Amongst an excessive amount of generic chugs and stagnant structures, BoO's identity is not lost, but their ability as musicians only appears in brief spurts. Between the newly applied, Chester Bennington-esque vocal style of their keyboardist/co-vocalist and boxed-in, simple skeleton arrangements, one has to wonder why Born Of Osiris would ever swap their skills as songwriters for a streamlined collection of B-sides that want to be singles.

One of the most talented around, the band should and could have done so much more with this release. After releasing such an amazing album in The Discovery, Born of Osiris really need to take the advice of the lyrics in "Machine", and take a look at themselves to ask what went wrong. Maybe they let the fame go to their head and got careless, or maybe the lack of guitarist Jason Richardson on this album is what pushed them to focus more on the synthesizers. Whatever the case, hopefully Born of Osiris will find their way back on the path that lead to their Ascension. Tomorrow We Die Alive was not awful, but by releasing it Born of Osiris falls into a category I never would have fathomed they would: average.

I've tried coming back to this record a few times, and every time it is increasingly underwhelming compared to The Discovery. Just generic breakdown, with the overuse of synths to try and improve consistently poor songwriting. I know these guys are talented and Jason Richardson wasn't the driving force of the band, but it is hard to look past in massive downgrade in the bands creativity. Was a 3 when I was 16, but time has slowly turned this is a 2.

"Tomorrow We Die Alive" a.k.a. "Tomorrow We OD on Coke." Seriously though, the lyrics aren't awful, but this really doesn't go anywhere. Every track makes me want to skim through to get to the big change that never comes. Not enough tension between parts.

I dont find myself hating this album like a lot of critics seem to. I actually think there is some pretty stellar synthesizer and the archepeggios are really great even if they are slightly overused. Although beyond that its can be summed up as a big djent cliche in all honesty.

Aeon lll, Absolution and The Origin are decent songs. Rest is uninspired chugging and sweeps. Big disappointment for me was how they now use the keys to create leads instead of more atmosphere like parts from A Higher Place. r

For the first few months, I was SO angry at this album, because it didn't live up to my expectations at all. However, over time it has developed a special place in my heart, and has some of my favorite BOO songs. Its not as progressive and evolved as i'd like, but some of the songs are just SO badass.

It may be a step back from The Discovery, but Tomorrow We Die Alive is a catchy, ambient deathcore release that shows Born of Osiris' experimentation side. Some may complain about the emphasis on the keyboard elements and the use of open note chugs, but Tomorrow We Die Alive still shows the BOO's ability to create catchy, heavy, and well written tunes.

A step back from The Discovery for sure, but that doesn't stop it from being a pretty awesome release. While the album is more simplistic than its predecessor, it still contains the elements that make BoO one of my favorite bands. There are some great riffs, catchy songwriting, and great electronic work. I love it, despite what others say about it.

Vocals improved more than expected. and Lee stepped it up on this album, theres some groovy A Higher Place-esque riffs in the second half of the album, and with Joe Buras tossing in some uplifting, ambient, and even dark synth makes for a ridiculously fun listen. The drums are top notch and definitely Cams best to date. The bass is audible so thats a plus. Only downfalls are the clean vocals, it completely fucks up the song vibe. And its relatively short, I was hoping for something a bit longer. lol I hope theres some bonus tracks eventually

The 2 singles they released are indeed very generic and makes me question why they chose to rrelease those 2 songs to promote the album but do not be fooled, this is a good album. While rit is no where near the level of The Discovery, it is still a great album on it's own with rsome really good songs. The song "Illusionist" is an example of a good song on the album rthat also has a Within The Ruins "feel" to it. If they had another guitarist to include more rsolos I would of given this a 4.
