The most metal thing about this album is the beginning of Blood Eagle when you hear a guy having a spear thrusted into his gut! I shit you not, you hear the impact, the blood spilling, and the guy groaning. m/
Amon Amarth return with a colossal and heavy record that is arguably the golden viking in their discography. Brutal gutural vocals, crushing riffs, overwhelming leads, powerful drums and an amazing performance make "Deceiver Of The Gods" a stellar record.
In 2013, Amon Amarth release a consistent, thoroughly enjoyable melodic death metal album, adding to their catalogue of consistent and thoroughly enjoyable melodic death metal albums. It's business as usual.
Pretty solid Amon Amarth album. It's nothing out of the ordinary honestly as its business as usual. However it does sound a bit heavier and more groove oriented this time around. It's a 4 from me but I may increase or decrease the rating as necessary.
