Wut are you doing with your voice man? You're not Drew York. Stahp.

While the sophomore slump didn't hit this one finally did. The focus of too many breakdowns, hit or miss lyrics, and a vocal performance that gives rather mixed feelings makes this album a huge disappointment. Only really truly memorable songs were the first and last one. Shame

The vocals ramp this rating up from a 2.5-3 all the way to a 4. They are just TOO good. Harsh and clean vocals. Sublime. They make me forgive all the lame breakdowns, and really, except for the first song, they don't over do it. But if these guys took the time to really try and take those out this album would just be amazing. Catchy hooks. Some cool guitar parts, and good production.

I didn't hate it, didn't love it. I really enjoyed the vocals, especially the singing, even though they're much different then My Devil In Your Eyes (Drew York style, which will be a source of a lot of hate I feel). There are a lot of breakdowns, that become tedious at times, but the all around musicianship isn't bad. I'll give it a 3.5, even though I really want to give it a 3, just cause I love the singing soooo much.

These guys always had the melodic edge over their labelmates on Rise Records. The clean vocals have always been top-notch and one of my favourite parts of this group. The band seems to be striving to push boundaries sometimes here and it really shows. Sadly there's a couple too many mediocre cuts to rate this much higher.

Fucking vocals kill this for me, sounds like a pissed off 3rd grader. It's a shame cause I really liked these guys

A great new direction for this band. Their lyrics are the in the foreground here, and they shine beautifully on their own. The music becomes more breakdown-centric, but still splices melody in simple but beautiful ways. Rapp's new vocal approach is very raw and requires less studio work. Great album overall that suffers from only its generic sound and occasional, unnecessary vocal noodling.

I honestly had never heard of The Color Morale before I bought this cd. I was looking for something new and decided to give it a shot. I'm so glad i did. The album is very inspirational and offers EXCELLENT vocals in every way, shape, and form. Though it does contain some less than average chugging and riffs, the album also has some of the catchiest hooks you will ever hear (Smoke and Mirrors). Don't be fooled by the label. This band DOES NOT belong on Rise Records. Looking for a new metalcore album? You found it.

harder breakdowns, crisper cleans, MUCH harsher and angrier shouts, better melodies, more ideas and innovations...I always liked TCM but this record represents their breakthrough. a unique vocal performance and constant nodding does it for me. it's generic at times (sure), but come on guys - it's a metalcore record in the year of 2013. what did you expect? ...4!

An ever so slightly above average album marred by over reliance on breakdowns and an overall step down in musicianship from My Devil In Your Eyes. That being said, it's not as bad as I thought it would be, and the vocals are actually pretty decent once you get used to them. They bear a lot of similarities to Drew York, sometimes almost scarily so. The Color Morale haven't yet written a bad album per se, but now they're just a hair above their numerous peers, and if they aren't careful, they'll be just another core band.

It was quite disappointing if you ask me since what got me into the band was their 2nd LP "My Devil In Your Eyes". They decided to go from fun tasty sounding metalcore to just the common formula of metalcore instead, now it took me quite some time to get into to their new sound and I just figured that It was still alright. The vocalist Drew Yo-I mean Garret Rapp is perhaps the only one who saved this album from becoming even more worse granting it to be in the clear.

while this isn't as good as past workrits still TCMrbreakdowns aren't over done, instruments are above averagerand Garret's singing voice is amazing.

I'm confused, what part of the vocals sound like drew York? Antigen - you mention that the cleans sound alike, I've only listened to rising sun and there are no cleans from drew York on that.
