With Heartthrob, Tegan and Sara have stepped out of the awkward transitional phase that was rSainthood and have fully transformed their sound into complete synthpop bliss. Some may call rit "selling out," but I don't see it - this is an immensely fun record that's a huge rimprovement over Sainthood and has all the hallmarks you'd expect from a T&S record, just in ra more accessible, danceable package.

For me, "Heartthrob" is a step down from Tegan and Sara's previous three albums. However, after repeated listens, it has grown on me, and I particularly enjoy "How Come You Don't Want Me" and "Closer".

The only way to describe the content on this album is terrible. It not only destroys what Tegan and Sarah have built over the years, but destroys my opinion of what I think that they are capable of in modern times. Very disappointed with this album and would not recommend it to anyone.

Every now and then there are moments where it feels Canadian twin sisters, Tegan and Sara, are ready to bust into another song's chorus after one verse. That's how similar the duo's style is throughout the album, nevertheless its a fun and electrifying type of style supported by electro-pop goodness and heart-throbbing lyrics.
