This is one of the most rewarding albums I've had to experience. The amount of work and effort put into this record can be shown from the production, the writing, instrumentation and the soul. All the tracks are handled with diversity and feel unique, which makes each play feel intimate. This album is a beast all its own that not only sets the bar for 2013, but also feels like it has reinvented the word "quality" into a refreshing term for all music. But speaking as a fan, who has been following this band since Brennan Taulbee filled in as lead man, One Big Particular Loop is absolutely worth the 3 year wait.
I normally am not one to rate something so high right after a first listen. But man I can tell this is going to be a tremendous grower. The vox remind me of Thom Yorke quite often, but that's not a bad thing. The production is fantastic, and there is a rather nice diversity in the instrumentation, whilst remaining relatively simple and laid back at the same time. Wonderful.
