It has it's moments, but overall it's very uninspired and seems to force a heavier sound in which the vocalist
seems to struggle with. Recommended for Fans of Welcome Home Armageddon, the nostalgic feel of their older
work has all but diminished.

Best thing since the debut album. I think they needed to explore a different style & mix it up.

Definitely a step up from Welcome Home Armageddon, but still far from their best work. The "screamed" vocals sound a little tired at a few points throughout the album - perhaps Matt should stick to clean vocals. But instrumentally quite an accomplishment.

A great, stripped down record. Most of the songs on Conduit are pretty short, and the sound is raw and in your face. There is a nice amount of aggression, the instrumental performances are strong, and most of the tracks are different enough from one another that the record never runs together or gets boring. Some of the songs are too short, though, and at times the vocals feel strained and/or off key ("Nails.") While not as strong as Welcome Home Armageddon, Conduit is solid, if somewhat one-note.

Funeral for a Friend's sixth full-length album Conduit should mostly be looked at as a double-decker sandwich: while it certainly has a delicious flavor, the thing just can't last forever, and you'll be begging for more in less than a minute. From a musical standpoint, the record's back-to-basics approach has a surprising amount of enjoyability despite the lack of variation and Matthew Davies' seemingly tired vocal performance.

★★ I formerly had a soundoff for this album, but Sputnik doesn't let you delete soundoffs, so I
replaced the soundoff with this. Check out my new account, EasterInTheBatcave, for all of my
soundoffs and reviews, including the one for this album. ★★

A solid album that showcases the heavier side of FFAF. The vocals are passionate and performed well, and I found myself nodding my head a lot to the music. Unfortunately, a lot of this album comes off as stripped-down b-sides of Welcome Home Armageddon. The music can be a bit bland at times and the songs seem to run together a bit sometimes. However, this is still worth a listen if you're a big fan of this band.

Going to join the majority here and say that the vocalist's voice has its pitchy moments. That being said, there are some really catchy songs on here and the music stays interesting. I really think alot of the songs are hit or miss, mostly due to the vocals.

the downsides to the album are the chugs and his voice on some of the tracks. otherwise this
is just rifftastic and fun

This music is excellent, Matt does seem to struggle with it at times though. Pat is great on drums. At 29 minutes its a bit short and leaves me wanting more

While I feel Matt Davies' vocals are somewhat forced (as far as the screaming) and I do prefer their longer songs (think casually dressed and welcome home armageddon) I'm a fan of this album. I dig their more straightforward and punchy metalcore approach. Definitely not like their older stuff, though, and at just 29 minutes, it feels a little empty and short. The title track, "Best Friends", "The Distance", and "Death Comes to Us All" are recommended tracks.

third listen in, its definitely not as good as WHA. Miss the contrast between Matt and Ryan, and it's not melodic as i would have liked, not much variation in it.
|2.0 poor||Pndi | January 25th 13|
Huge downgrade. The classic FFAF guitar leads, riffs and melodies are gone and replaced by a new straight up metalcore approach. Unfortunately it turns out to be really generic, uninspired and simply bland.

So hyped for this. I've heard audio samples from all songs on this album (and the two that have been released already), and I can definitely say one thing, I am incredibly impatient for this album!

Excited for this. Definitely might give it a listen. Cover art is much cooler than the previous release.
