I've had issues getting into this band for some time, but something about the vocal delivery and structure of the opening track "All Of My Angels" changed my mind. The guitar work here is amazing, and though the bands signature electronic/gaming elements are here it's not until later that you notice how well they are weaved into the tracks. Lyrically the album is fun too, as many of the songs can be taken from a gaming standpoint but also work well when viewed from a political or personal mindset. Overall Rise of a Digital Nation is a huge success, and will make my top album of 2012 list for sure.

The "SID" elements of their music, sound and composition wise (it even affects the singer), are drastically less present than in their previous work, when not just gone (will to appeal a larger audience?), and the epic-ness of their music along with it... I'll take the original "Hero" version an-y-time.

Great instrumentation and I really enjoyed the integration of VG sounds in the songs, but there was not as much integration as I was expecting leading to the album sounding like good power metal. The lyrics were good and the album never seemed to have any dragging or any notice of slowing down.
