It's safe to say that Parkway Drive is back. Dark Days gave us high hopes for a comeback record from the boys, and sure Old Ghost/New Regrets was okay, but the rest of the album makes up for that. Tracks like Dream Run and Swing show us that they didn't forget what their fans want, and they delivered. Don't know if this is as good as Horizons, but after a few more listens I'll give you my full verdict. Atlas is a much better record than Deep Blue, and any Parkway Drive will enjoy this record with open arms.

Winston McCall has some of the best low/mid screams in metal. There are tons of different vibes on this album. Even the clean parts and "softer" sections are heavy. This is a great band full of positive aggresion, culture, chemistry and most of all, talented musicians. Some of the lyrics seem to speak directly to you as an individual. Oh, and by the way...from a guitars player: RIFFS!!!!!! Excellent guitar passages, melodic thrash riffs, viking type feels in certain parts, dripping-wet clean chords, tons of groove. LOVE IT!

Another skull crushing delivery from Australia's lead metalcore titans. They could try and change/add a few things here and there (clean vocals and shredding are seriously lacking in PD's music).

God Damn it Parkway Drive! Stop being so fucking good and making me seem like a false kvlt
elite trve metalhead. I mean seriously how do these guys do it? They continue to evolve
the narrow niche that is modern day metalcore and not only manage to be good but manage to
write memorable unique songs I will be listening to years from now. They even make
breakdowns thant are some of the freshest sounding I've heard well since the last Parkway
album. Atlas doesn't serve as a testament to metalcore or any particular genre in anyway,
it just serves as a testament to the amazingly creative band of Aussies that is Parkway
drive. Best Songs: Wild Eyes, The River, Atlas.

The few tracks that at least try to deviate from the typical tough-guy metalcore (Atlas, The River, and Blue and The Grey) - end up being the absolute highlights of another run-of-the-mill metalcore album. Take note, Parkway, that expermination can actually go a long way.

The single was bland and boring. The lyrics were a step up thankfully. Hopefully Dark Days as a whole is better than that song.rReflection from later on: This album really has brought their game back. Yeah, it's still too lethargic, the songs rely on breakdowns (a bit less thankfully) but goddammit if songs like Blue and the Grey and Atlas do not slay. Really brings an all round performance to the table.
