I changed my mind about what I said before. This gets better and better with each listen. Crumbling Insanity and Evoken Vulgarity are two of the best songs that they've ever done. Now I'd say this is probably a little better than Never Cross the Dead, but still not as good as Fulfill the Curse.
Once again Hooded Malice proves to be one of the leading finnish death metal bands. They've forged a reputation by playing Rippikoulu tinged dm that crushes hard but is not as doomy as Musta Seremonia. This album lives up to the hype. Effigies of Evil is a fun album full of horror stories, sludgy riffs, and a crushing - yet also terrifying atmosphere.
