| 3.0 good | Supertails | September 19th 12 | This was better than I expected. It was disappointingly a step down from previous album Tourist History, but it was still a nice listen. Thankfully, rather than all the tracks being average, it varied more or less between meh songs and great ones, meaning I've still got some good tracks to take away from it. They've got a lot of potential that I hope they can put to good use in a future release, because as of yet they've failed to really utilize the talent they've got and, like I said, this was a step in the wrong direction. Better luck next time, I guess?

| 3.5 great | iGuter | August 31st 12 | It's a great follow up and fun, but some aspects don't grab the entire enjoyment of their debut.

| 0.0 | Steve | August 27th 12 | It's a solid sophomore effort that has certainly expanded into a mature field for Two Door
Cinema Club's flock to frolic upon. rThe sound is edgier and more stretched out with more
versatile song structures, instrumentation and sounds. The inclusion of electronic effects
means there's something to compliment the Two Door Cinema Club jittery guitar sounds. Still,
with two steps forward; there is a step back in the form of the focus on lyrical content and
song-structure. I feel this album really brings out how weak and uninspired Two Door Cinema
Club's lyricism is. The lyrics, to me, are one half clich? and the other half really banal
and frankly 'generic'. It's clearly not the focused point of the record though. So it's a
subtle improvement but I feel there are still improvements to be made in order for the band
to wow me.

| 4.5 superb | jackalope11 | August 26th 12 | It's like Tourist History but with a bigger difference in each individual song. Tourist History was a great album, but every song sounded similar to at least a few songs on the album. Beacon is a lot different in a sense of each song having its own identity. Also, Handshake is an absolutely brilliant piece of music. Best song on the album by far.

| 4.0 excellent | Cameron S. | August 24th 12 | It's everything that was great about Tourist History, but the song structures are more interesting and everything just sounds a hell of a lot better.
