Just not feeling this like I did Cosmo and LA. There's definitely some good shit on here but there are also a good amount of boring tracks. Heave(n) through All the Secrets is a bit of a drag. Maybe after a few more listens the darker more subdued nature of this will grow on me.
Combining hazy spaced out samples with lush complex beats, this time putting his jazz influences a little more upfront Flying Lotus has created this mystical psychedelic jazzy hip-hop journey into the beautiful mind of Steve Ellison
Giving jazz an abstract feel on this album is the most consistent album Fly Lo has put out so far... Delivering a sound that can make anyone relax and admit that experimental music does have to sound too strange. This bridges perfect between Jazz and Experimental, good work dude.
The album has a listenability that has been absent in prior flylo works. Obviously the man makes some truly incredible music, but a lot of people get turned off by the abstract delivery. I could show this album to pretty much anyone, and I could almost guarantee that they would love it.
