Avenue of Escape's self-titled EP release is the definition of the cookie cutter Pop Punk band. The band incorporates slight hardcore, post-hardcore, and alternative influences, but the overall majority of their sound is very generic and derivative. You'll find nothing new here or really anything remotely impressive. Despite following their influences rather well, they completely lack the energy or catchiness necessary to make this enjoyable whatsoever. Every sign points towards the fact that this band is very mediocore yet very inexperienced, meaning there's a definite possibility of improvement. Recommended track(s): Better Day.
