| 4.0 excellent | Steven Spedding | June 25th 12 | Clocking in at almost an hour long, The Union Of Crowns is a bit of an ordeal to make it through. However,
there are some moments of inspiration in spite of some criminally bad lead vocals, amid a barrage of
breakdowns. Bury Tomorrow have really stepped it up instrumentally, with melodic death metal lines that
could be cut from As I Lay Dying's The Powerless Rise. Bury Tomorrow manage to offer up an atmosphere
different to their peers, avoiding many of the pitfalls bands such as Miss May I and The Eyes Of A Traitor (later
work) have fallen into - being unable to forge a sound of their own. So much of an improvement they have
undergone, the sound is barely recognisable from the band's debut album Portraits. One thing that has
remained constant is the stellar performance of clean vocalist Jason Cameron. There can't be many better
clean vocalists in modern metalcore and his versatility in moving between high and low, soft and loud is
remarkable. Ignoring the unnecessarily lengthy run time of the album, they have found a nice balance here
between heavy and melodic and this album is a must check out for fans of melodic metalcore.

| 4.0 excellent | Devastator | June 29th 12 | A very solid release by a band that is begining to tap into potential they showed on Portraits. Excellent leads that incorporate melodeath influences and good drumming. The harsh vocalist may rub some te wrong way but the cleans more than make up for it. Any fan of metalcore should check this out.

| 4.0 excellent | SatelliteYears | August 29th 12 | The growls are hard to swallow on occasion, but they're not unlistenable meanwhile Jason Cameron has managed to improve his voice quite a bit, and the guitars remind me a lot of melodic death metal bands like Darkest Hour. Great album.

| 3.5 great | Manqaness24 | July 27th 12 | Union of Crown's is a metalcore album before anyone stops reading hear me out first.
This is their first debut album under Nuclear blast records, let's see how this stacks up. Fourth teen track affair about 55 mins in length. First thing you will notice is that this is run of the mill metalcore mixed with technical/melodic edge which is not bad. The guitars are sweeping, shredding that all the technical boys love.Think of The Air I Breathe with more melody. Actually that side saves this album from being mediocre metalcore in a sense. They use a mix between clean poppy vocals and harsh growls. The album shines the most on the first five tracks especially "An Honorable Reign" The main problems i have with the album is the length and atfer a while the songs do sound like the same. But it's a good release mind you probably one of the better metalcore release in a long time in my opinion.

| 3.5 great | erandolph90 | July 16th 12 | Lead vocals are not too awful and there is plentiful amount of chugging, but five tracks
bring some life that'd I recommend buying on their own; Message to a King, Royal Blood,
Kingdom, 1603, and Sceptres.

| 4.0 excellent | Nick Senior | June 29th 12 | Right now it's between a 3.5 and a 4, but the fact that the band has expanded upon its melodic metalcore deserves some praise. This was a band that seemed heavily rooted in the "metalcore guilty pleasure" status with "Portraits", but this record finds the band adding a heap of melodeath influences a la new As I Lay Dying or older Still Remains. It won't show up on a lot of top 10 lists, but if you enjoy the genre, it may be one your most played list.
