 | SlowlyFallingAwake Hi, found Mariner a short while ago in my favorite record store and was blown away due to its sheer awesomeness. Had to think of our conversation ^^ Hope all is okay with you. I discovered a s***load of new music recently. Do you know Julien Baker?

| SlowlyFallingAwake You're definitely right. Wow, I thought I was the only one who digs Somewhere Along The Highway so much! That album's certainly a peak in their career. I like Salvation very very much too though, it's such a close call. Each CD has aces up its sleeve. But in terms of consistency, those two are more or less tied for me. Do you have some suggestions for me? I'm trying to expand my taste in music. If you like, I can give you some as well, just let me know.

| SlowlyFallingAwake I've kind of grown out of Oceanic at the moment, back I've not given it a lot of spins... Mariner is awesome! I've been listening so much music lately that I can't pinpoint why exactly, but I remember the female vocals were a welcome variation and, as per usual, some awesome musicianship going on with long, defily crafted song structures.

| SlowlyFallingAwake Hey, we talked in here a long time ago :) Our tastes are very alike, it's pretty amazing. I'm a fellow Cult of Luna enthusiast as well. Salvation, as is the case with you, is one of my all-time favorite albums.

 | NodScene23 Agreed, the original Alice is untouchable but the last two records are still pretty ace. I really like "Phantom Limb" on the new album and "Private Hell" from Black. Those songs have shot up in the Alice canon for me.

| NodScene23 Haha yeah, grew up on Alice and listened to the solo Jerry records when they came out and loved them. I think he beats a lot of similar guitarists of his generation by miles. How do you like the last two AIC albums?

| SlowlyFallingAwake Yo I'm checking out the two albums you recommended and I'm digging them, but I have a hunch it'll grow on me a lot. I have that feeling sometimes with specific albums, when there's so much underlying meaning/layers that it's impossible to grasp on first listen. I believe I checked out black gives way to blue a loooong time ago and didn't like it, but then again my taste has changed drastically.

| SlowlyFallingAwake WHAT? Those exact pieces were what turned the album from a 4.5 to a 5! I can't imagine the band agreeing to this, perhaps the record company was involved in the matter... Anyway, I'm glad we got the right version of the album. Well, I do know a song or two from them, but haven't listened to whole cd's (yet) bc I have so much other stuff to listen to. Got any recs for me?

| SlowlyFallingAwake Cool. It's one of my favourite albums. I must admit their newer stuff sounds a bit bland compared to the older. So weird to talk to someone about that hidden track. Come to think of it nobody ever commented on it. Oh well. I dig your taste in music, it's somewhat similar to mine.
