| Atari fair enough i can see how some might think black sabbath is boring but they pretty much invented metal. They came after the beatles around 1970 and their sound was unheard of at the time. Also, slayer is my least favorite of the big 4 haha to each their own

| sixdegrees City of Caterpillar are essential, gj. Skycamefalling are metalcore tho. Anyway try: Hot Cross- Cryonics, Off Minor-The Heat Death of the Universe, Suis La Lune- Riala (for contemporary screamo), and I Hate Myself- 10 Songs (my personal favorite). Orchid are also great, but maybe a bit more extreme than what you're looking for.

| sixdegrees damn, you're going through a lot right now. My advice is to just focus on the things that make you happy: your gf, music, hobbies and devote as much time as you can to them. If you can keep a positive outlook, it'll be easier to deal with the hard stuff when you have to face that. Not sure how much this helps, but it's what I do when i'm stressed.
