  • Drifter LOL yeah like i would love to donate if i had more money but it's like. you started doing this on your own. i understand not feeling appreciated for your efforts and he truly is the best channel on YouTube as far as organization, pictures, high quality audio etc. but like. cmon man lmao. he's done this for years threatening to close down the channel and stop uploading
    February 2 11:05 PM
  • Drifter finally listening to young mack t my bad foxy
    November 22 12:23 AM
  • Hawks LETS GO!!!! I just bought your first album on Bandcamp the other day. :]]]
    October 23 11:14 PM
  • Hawks I MISS U!!!!
    October 19 10:47 PM
  • Drifter oh haha my most recent shout wasn't a rec just kind of a mention and callback to that OZ album you recommended me which was hella good. i really gotta go through the whole YBB/Mac dre crew family tree
    July 26 09:48 PM
  • Drifter https://www.discogs.com/release/14944649-Da-Unda-Dogg-Best-Of-Da-Millenium i recently copped this and it?s sequel and man. those OZ songs stand out hard. makes me realize how good his first album really is.
    July 25 03:47 AM
  • Drifter yeah dude you gotta check roots from the underground i know i?ve been throwing a lot but it?s legit the best g funk album i?ve heard all year. real classic vibes. i feel like it kinda takes more of a southern california sound and puts it through a bay area lense despite ut being produced by sean t. i think i might even buy a cd of it it?s no more expensive than your average rare gangsta rap album
    July 18 11:39 PM
  • Drifter https://www.discogs.com/release/6591784-Double-Trouble-Rated-PG ive been meaning to check it since i realized its existence a couple months ago. still waiting for the right moment because im expecting another CLASSIC
    July 14 10:00 PM
  • Drifter yeah ive read of him been meaning to check. also i was working when i saw your last messages my bad for not responding but yeah i realized royal flush has pretty much always been a 5. its been 4 years and i still have not found anything like it and hardly anything better if at all. there's something about it i just can never put my finger on. real lightning in a bottle magic. did you know freeze and seo loc formed a duo a few years later and put out an album?
    July 14 09:58 PM
  • Drifter also their spinoff group roots from the underground is really ****ing good they?ve got one album and it?s more of the same kinda stuff
    July 13 05:11 AM
  • Drifter sean t?s first 2 are so great. kaos debut is good too and has killer beats but i find his rapping kinda uninteresting
    July 13 04:39 AM
  • Drifter murder one gangster family tree is so great. sean t debut and spin off group roots from the underground bangggg. its a shame sean t got overworked for JT around the turn of the century and watered down his style cause it doesn't do his 90s legacy justice
    July 11 06:10 PM
  • Drifter my favorite super obscure rap albums ive heard. s*** is some inner core of the earth alabama g funk it's a trip to listen to. definitely seek it out its super memorable
    March 25 01:05 AM
  • Drifter yessss i found them like 4 years ago i think? kind of shocking its been that long now that i think of it but they're so sick. I just dont like how every now and then they hold everyone hostage and demand money lest they pull all the videos lol. but tbh its worth giving them a donation for how much crazy rare stuff they've uploaded. like its astonishing how much is on there. have you ever jammed g4's demons in da trees? s*** is immaculate easily the best thing ive found from them and one of
    March 25 01:04 AM
  • Drifter youre familiar with the channel RAPMUSIC3000 right???
    March 25 12:50 AM
  • combustion07 Hell yeah man you're a top tier user also! Nice to see some ICP praise in your shoutbox too! I grew up on them and Twiztid big time in my childhood with my older sister starting her juggalette phase when I was 5 years old lol. Even though they're hated I think they had some cool stuff with killer production especially in the Inner City Posse era and s*** like the Beverly Killz EP
    February 21 04:53 AM
  • discovolante I always ICP had some hidden gems!
    February 13 12:02 PM
  • Drifter haha nice. yeah i love reading comments like that. it definitely has that feeling. the production on it is so good
    February 9 01:09 AM
  • Drifter i just realized i didn't respond to your last comment. i gotta get on those asap i don't know if i realized he had an album with mac dre that?s dope. if you say it's dope it's gotta be dope plus if it's anywhere near as good as the production on the oz album it's a wrap.
    February 8 02:55 AM
  • Drifter man this kaos album is hard as hell too. this is a great little clique. chunk was on the same label too i gotta revisit him
    February 7 05:17 AM
  • Drifter listen to murder one gangster's "exposed to the game" asap. sean t and kaos' group from 1992. ive always known of sean t from his work with jt and kaos gets recommended on every gangsta rap album on discogs but this is their group together and it is exceptional.
    February 7 04:36 AM
  • Drifter Yeah it's also even harder when their names are really generic/common/can result in something else. I gotta check Coolio Da Unda Dogg's stuff cause I've seen his name ever since I got into this music but just never checked. Guess I was waiting for the right moment
    February 4 05:51 PM
  • Drifter the beats are sick and he's actually got some personality too. like running they mouth is what i love about g funk i love when rappers have fun and make silly hooks like that. also levitti absolutely kills it on ride on your hood and the other one he's on. do you know anything about OZ? specifically like how did this random dude from sac get the entire YBB crew and levitti on his album? lmao i would guess he had family in Vallejo or something but i can't find much info about him
    January 30 01:16 AM
  • Drifter yeah the production is absolutely phenomenal and the rappers are charming too. i remember you telling me that story of the truck a few years back haha. i can't wait to bump in my car now since it only plays cds. now i gotta get this OZ album that s*** is banging
    January 28 09:06 PM
  • Drifter playing it right now. dude i cant thank you enough for this. i never thought i'd ever get a copy/ i really appreciate you sacrificing it for me.

    January 24 02:27 AM
  • Drifter 40 is not bad at all for that album i've definitely seen it go for much higher. yeah link me the listing and i'll send the money! thanks a million man
    January 23 03:13 AM
  • Drifter I super appreciate it man you know how much i love that 909 boyz album. how much you want for it? also yeah that is an insanely good price for a sealed copy of city of syrup. i still dont have one yet after all these years but ive almost bought it for that much in "good" condition before. i once lost an ebay auction for it for $15 by cents because i didnt know how to use ebay at the time lmao
    January 20 11:24 PM
  • Drifter niceee. i totally forgot you offered to sell me it a few years ago lol would you still be down (totally ok if you wanna keep it that s***s just hard to find)
    January 20 12:32 AM
  • Drifter yo do you still have that copy of royal flush by 909 boyz???????????????????

  • SlothcoreSam What you think of Patient Sixty-Seven- Home Truths EP. It is metalcore in the vein of Dead Kelly, but serious.

  • garas Hey! :] I'd say it depends on the listener. It is very-very raw, and yeah it has some issues. At first I was a bit disappointed about it - but if you dig deeper, you may find its "magic". (And I think, the vinyl sounds actually better than the video on youtube.)

    January 30 04:48 PM
  • Drifter Nah it's all good don't worry about it. I'll get it in the future. I don't have much money atm anyways so I'll just go with the $40 one on discogs assuming it's still there in the future.
    January 28 12:44 AM
  • Drifter Man. I'm so jealous. I only really got into it this past week or so but man I'm fiending for the cd. It's just so damn expensive. The beats are so strong and the rappers actually have a lot of personality after repeated listenings. Especially Freeze. My fav songs are the tt which is like the best cruising track of all time. That beat is just outstanding with that bass line. My number 2 is Tha Coldest which has such an odd but cool vibe that I just love
    January 27 07:00 PM
  • Drifter Bro I found Royal Flush last month and I knew instantly knew I was gonna kill it in the next round of the g funk comp with it but you've already got it rated. WHY
    January 27 03:34 PM
  • SandwichBubble You have my word that I'll check it first chance I get :)
    December 27 05:01 PM
  • Drifter Yeah production is pretty great. Shady Game is an amazing song and prob my favorite. Unfortunately it was taken off later pressings of the cd which makes it expensive ;-;
    December 27 03:03 AM
  • CaptainDooRight Hey thanks I?m glad you like it! I actually live 6 hours south of the bay but I?m a one man band, always have been, I play everything, I?d have to form a band and teach them the songs but family makes things like that hard nowadays. I appreciate the offer though ::]]

    November 18 03:59 AM
  • SandwichBubble Don't think so, but I've def heard some songs here and there. Flashy synth stuff, right? If you've got a good album rec, I'm all ears. | Nice Vice Versa rating, glad you liked it.

    August 23 01:23 AM
  • Get Low lmao at you being the only user on this website who has ever listened to Tanya Tucker
    August 22 09:34 PM
  • Drifter Haha yeah he is. I Wonder though..... Po It Up is such a low key song too but it's such a banger. Get Back is prob in my top 3. Also tell me that singing at the very end of Payin Dues isn't godlike

  • ian b of course! and i'm not sure what you'll dig, but Leave by Sadness (USA) is one of my favorite blackgaze projects of the decade that you might dig. i also noticed you had Parting the Sea... by Touche Amore rated, and since that's probably their weakest record, i'd jam Is Survived By (a lyrical masterpiece) or their first record (emo hardcore bliss). As for Lil Peep, definitely check out his LiL PEEP: Part One mixtape (the 30 min version specifically) as it's his most rap-oriented and DIY project.
    August 15 01:03 AM
  • ian b yo, just wanted to say you have one of my favorite tastes on the site, and i'd be more than down to share recs if you wanted to. although sidenote, as the only resident Lil Peep defender on this site, i kinda feel obligated to ask this; but would you be willing to listen to any other project of his that (i think) you'll almost definitely like more than the overproduced s*** of his that you've rated? either way, i got other recs if you don't wanna listen to more/better Peep projects of course lol
    August 13 03:44 AM
  • Lord(e)Po)))ts sorry I'm late but actually I don't believe I've listened to any of Grouch's solo albums. just his living legends material and various collaborative works
    August 8 02:06 AM
  • YankeeDudel Heyyo whats up old friend? Yeah, I only rate s*** on here now. Hope you?re doing well bro.
    August 6 10:34 PM

    July 11 01:43 AM
  • Drifter You should listen to The Konnectid Project if you haven't. One of the best g funk compilation albums. Presented by Suga Free and Mausberg with I think all Quik production idk. It's tight af
    July 10 04:11 PM
  • Drifter Haven't heard that one. I'll check it out. I'm sure it's amazing
    July 7 07:30 PM

    June 21 05:00 PM
  • Pikazilla You too ;) Solar fields are cool.
    June 17 04:17 PM
  • Drifter I've been listening to Don't Fight The Feelin' a lot recently since I got it on cd finally and honestly it's so good but it's hard to ignore how some of the songs sound like they should've come out years prior which is probably accurate since he was locked up for a while. Off Parole is still a top 5 rap album all time though. Goat beats and his flow/lyrics are at his peak

    November 21 07:04 PM
  • Drifter Yeah it's fantastic. Tell Me What It Be Like is probably my new fav G-Funk song of 98. That song's just a total banger. I need to get this cd ASAP. I need to return to BnD now that I enjoy Lay more.
    November 14 01:19 AM
  • Drifter Nice Unsolved Mysteries rating. I like that album way more than Black n Dangerous tbh. It's funky, fun, emotional, dense, it's a great mix of everything. Those rnb flavored tracks are just mmmmmm
    November 12 05:48 AM
  • Drifter Mr Sandman was cool. The beats reminded me of D-Moe with their fuzziness
    October 14 04:06 PM
  • Drifter Sweet I'll check it after this Lady of Rage album is done
    October 13 08:44 PM
  • Drifter evil bat is honestly one of my favorite rappers of all time. he's got 7 verses ever recorded all on that album and their all dope. especially his second one on send that crab off to die is scary af. evil bat really is/was one bad mother****er
    October 12 10:03 PM
  • Drifter nice bangin on wax 2 rating. I should 5 it tbh. gs and locs, send that crab off to die, mafia lane, cant stop wont stop, nearly every song bangs so hard. mafia lane's hook is just ahhhhhh
    October 12 10:02 PM
  • AnimalsAsSummit agreed, one of my faves. the album is full of great cuts. sun glow is really the only track i feel falls a bit short. the other tracks are mindblowing to the fullest degree.
    September 11 12:46 AM
  • AnimalsAsSummit awesome! thanks, love that album!!

    August 29 10:40 PM
  • GmemberKills im so slack!! I definitely got some sweet myspace rips, locals bands, and more obscure stuff i can hook you up with. I'll hook up with a link asap. Also does Fairview have a album 'called We'll Dodge It On The Way Back' or is that just some other band with the same name?
    August 10 04:24 PM
  • Drifter https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1078406 its up
    August 3 04:16 AM
  • Drifter Comp list going up Friday at around 10 am probably
    August 2 03:56 AM
  • GmemberKills I'm not sure how i feel about Iamerror yet... but it was def enjoyable. Honestly never really jammed much nintendocore, but i love stuff like early Skyeatsairplane. WTFA was pretty solid as well, reminded me a lot of we came as romans first 2 EP's. I can see why they were the most popular.
    July 30 08:51 PM
  • GmemberKills im late as hell replying, but thx a lot for the myspace rips. I was just wondering if you were still gonna send em. I love Fairview, and immediately looked everywhere for "Kicks and Giggles" with sadly no luck :( All i could find was some lyrics. Tetragrammatron rule too, sounds a lot like most of the classic bands from the era. Their bass player seems pretty decent too, especially since it's actually audible (which is somewhat uncommon for the time lol).
    July 30 08:47 PM
  • Get Low I agree, man. There's no reason why it shouldn't have seen the light of day.
    July 30 06:46 PM
  • hal1ax yea his voice really is incredible
    July 26 02:11 AM
  • hal1ax it's brevity helps it out i think too. makes it feel fresh the whole time. metalcore like this too often just overstays its welcome.. like even when it's rly good by song 10 ur like eh ok my sugar craving has been met, peace.
    July 25 05:02 AM
  • hal1ax hmm. so i am a sucker for lofi prod but idk how much i like it in this particular style of music. sort of takes the wind out of it a little.. feels less anthemic.. a little more languid. that being said, it's still really awesome.. riffs harder than of machines, even some choruses that rival the best on the aforementioned record. maybe a bit more diverse in song-structure as well. i'll need more time with it but i def love it already
    July 25 05:00 AM
  • hal1ax just got home from work a moment ago and started dloading it on slsk! ill hit u up shortly with my thoughts
    July 25 02:28 AM
  • Drifter s explaining their rating as well. These look good to you for the comp im putting together?
    July 24 06:49 PM
  • Drifter RULES: A sister-competition to the "Con VS Unique Emo Crown" and "Post Punk-Off". Three competitors rec 30 albums, 1 at a time, to 3 judges. A new round of recs will be presented once all three judges have finished rating/listening to the albums. This will continue until a total of 30 albums will be presented, 10 from each competitor. Winner will be determined by the highest AVG but tie breaker will be whoever had the best rec and each judge gets 1 vote for that. Judges must write a few sentence

  • Drifter You'd be a contestant and rec people an album each round. It's like each round, you rec one album to the judges and you take the ratings and add them up as points and whoever has the most points at the end wins. I asked Key as well. It'll be fun....that is if there's people that want to take part in it
    July 8 09:49 PM
  • Drifter Do you wanna do something like this but with G-Funk? https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1078406
    July 8 08:13 PM

    July 4 01:03 AM
  • Atari yeah the production musicianship holds up really well but it's also just so damn consistent. don't find any tracks to be skip-worthy. cheers to nostalgia :]
    July 3 03:54 PM
  • Atari man, I'm digging that Armor for Sleep so hard. been on a nostalgic kick lately and I have to agree it holds up extremely well. better than I would have predicted lol
    July 2 03:58 PM
  • Asdfp277 it's such a cool album, i don't know why it has only 4 votes
    June 30 01:34 AM
  • Ryus it was a cool album, less experimental than i thought it would be but nice nonetheless. really liked the opener
    June 29 01:29 AM
  • bloc Sweet, I'll look into that
    June 28 09:55 PM
  • budgie check, fun bedroom pop https://whybonnie.bandcamp.com/album/nightgown out last fridaysuper nice
    June 28 05:50 AM
  • Drifter My biggest problem with Death Row is just how much unreleased material there is. While a lot has been released, there's still a lot still just chillin in a room somewhere. They decided to do the opposite of No Limit and shelve most of the artists' albums and now that the company that bought death row in 2009, wideawake Ent, is bankrupt like DR was, no more material has come out since 2012. Their spree of unreleased comps from 09-12 is crazy and all but just think about what's gathering dust!
    June 26 06:57 AM
  • Drifter Sorry for all these paragraphs im really not trying to lmao
    June 26 06:34 AM
  • Drifter Yeah man as a fan of G-Funk you have to. Dogg Food by the Dogg Pound, Retaliation by Daz, Death Row Lost Sessions by Snoop, Murder Was The Case soundtrack are ones I don't think you've heard that are essential. You can try to think of it like his money funded just The Chronic and then they got their own money from it? In any case you should def dig more. I know you're not a fan of Dre and he's really hardly on anything from Death Row rapping wise.
    June 26 06:33 AM
  • budgie thanks dude, i'll check this. do you know of any 50s throwback type of stuff aside from molly burch? i've only come across.. https://lilletblanc.bandcamp.com/track/be-new and https://kateteague.bandcamp.com/releases (both are amazing)
    June 26 06:27 AM
  • Drifter I can see where you're coming from though. Can't relate to something like that but I see it. Suge definitely isn't a good person lol
    June 26 06:18 AM
  • Drifter Man... That's interesting actually I've never heard that but man. Death Row is far and away my favorite label. Everything between 91 and 98 is just awesome imo and of the stuff post 98 (the year the label basically died) it's at least ok. Here's one of my favorite purchases ever: https://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Ultimate-Death-Row-Collection/master/1179501. 2 discs of almost all unreleased material and a bonus disc of music videos, plus a black t-shirt of their logo in white
    June 26 06:16 AM
  • Drifter I had a slight period over a couple days where I was listening to and really loving east coast stuff but I'm back on a total west coast binge like always.
    June 26 05:50 AM
  • Drifter Hey Fox how've you been? Jam anything good? I can't stop jamming stuff from Death Row and I've got these two items coming in the mail: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Archives-The-Soundtracks/release/3704148 and https://www.discogs.com/Dr-Dre-The-Chronic-Re-Lit-From-The-Vault/release/1948570. First one is 3/4 of their soundtracks but it's a cool collector's item and the second as you can see has a TON of material on a DVD that I was able to get for $40. A good price compared to the ones listed
    June 26 05:48 AM
  • budgie i love the album so much i want to cry. i don't understand this world
    June 25 05:48 PM
  • budgie dude why isn't molly burch more popular
    June 25 12:03 AM
  • Asura14 Thank you, I agree... Not sure why people are praising that album so much. Bunch of clanking and unsettling burbles and doll noises don't make something automatically artistic
    June 23 03:24 PM
  • DoofusWainwright and that's cool you know, but for me it's the last thing I'd ever want ;D
    June 20 07:36 AM
  • DoofusWainwright It's like Britney Spears singing over Cocteau Twins for me, it's duff
    June 20 07:19 AM
  • Drifter not even the one i mentioned? rip
    June 12 02:14 AM
  • Drifter What's the best kid rap verse in your opinion? I love Lil Malik's on Snoop's Pump Pump. Hell that's one of my fav verses on that whole album. So much energy.
    June 11 09:36 PM

  • DungeonBoy Hey dude, I've been following your black metal demos lists and really like the idea, there's a bunch on there I need to check. We just released a black metal/folk EP on our label by a project called Allelic. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on it since I remember checking out your black metal album a while back and know you make music. https://allelic.bandcamp.com/album/reverberations

    May 28 07:51 PM
  • GmemberKills yo you so should make a 2000s myspace core list one day
    May 24 01:54 AM
  • Drifter I know you're heavy on Black Metal RN but when you're in the mood for G-Funk, you need to listen to 4-Tay's 4 Tha Hard Way. It was only a year after and it's so good. It's fairly similar to Off Parole but still has its own identity and some of the songs are even better than Off Parole's highlights. Kind of a grower as it took 3 listens for me to get into it but you also dig him hard so it should be fine. If anything check this, probably his best song: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iw_InYqfpEc
    May 23 01:57 AM
  • Drifter Also I did a write up on Conspiracy: https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=180406
    May 20 03:58 AM
  • Drifter Sweet. If tou make an account you can add me @ Drifter#2657 and I'll add you to it
    May 20 03:47 AM
  • Drifter Do you have discord? I made a channel dedicated to talking about G-Funk that I wanna spread around YouTube /sput/rym and I wanted to know if you wanted to join and maybe be a mod or something
    May 20 03:36 AM
  • Thalassic Late reaction, but cheers! Yeah, Mortuary Drape is a great band in general
    May 13 08:35 PM
  • Drifter I love it man. I have it 5'd. It's RnB. Completely written and produced by R. Kelly except for one song. I recommend it. She was only 14/15 when she did it. She passed away 5/6 years later. R.I.P.
    May 6 04:58 PM
  • Drifter Yeah so we didn't end up going but I did get a bunch of stuff from our local one which recently has actually been really good. For a while it was not great. I got: Daz - DPGC: U Know What I'm Throwin Up, Aaliyah - Age Ain't Nothin But A Number, Bones Soundtrack, Bone Thugs N Harmony - Art of War, Diddy - No Way Out, R. Kelly - Remix City, R. Kelly - First Remix Single, and Usher - Confessions Special Edition. Very very good haul imo
    May 5 09:25 PM
  • Drifter Yeah that's the plan. Hoping to get a ton of g-funk. Really hope I can get some 4-Tay as well. I'll let you know what I get :)
    May 5 05:40 AM
  • Drifter My parents always leave on Friday nights for things and the last few weeks my pare Ts have been gone and my brother leaves a lot and has me do things and I don't complain so he wants to pay me back by doing whatever I want tomorrow and he brought up going to SF and I thought that would be cool.
    May 5 05:03 AM
  • Drifter Going to SF tomorrow. Reeeaaalllly hoping I can find some Suga Free. I will be so mad if it's one of his less great albums lol
    May 5 04:20 AM
  • Aiwaz Yes I listened to the Young Lay, it's awesome. I put it on my phone for my work playlist.
    May 4 09:31 PM
  • Drifter Dude this site is insane. I've only been able to recognize a couple things so far and I've written upwards of a thousand gfunk albums probably. These kinds of things stress me out tbh. I'm writing all I can so I don't lose it lol. Too. Much. Music. As for the legitimacy I'm too scared to try but the site is organized and clean so idk.
    May 4 03:44 AM
  • Drifter Dude. Thachronic.com is the coolest site. A database full of just straight gfunk. It says if you register you can download stuff so idk if its legit. Lemme know if you try. Either way I'm gonna spend a lot of time writing down everything i see lol
    May 4 03:08 AM
  • Hawks Jam that Manes album I just rated as well as that Gorgoroth demo if you haven't already I think you'll dig.
    May 3 02:21 AM
