 | Gyromania You, sir, have excellent taste in music. However, you should let CTTS grow on you; they're one of my favorite bands, and I understand that the general consensus is that they're difficult to get into.

| Jazzman85 I like Tommy's voice, he's quite a versatile musician, he's unclean vocals were better earlier in the discography, but really not as bad as people think. He's very talented. Good pianist as well. All opinion though.

| Jazzman85 lol I'm not progmaster and thanks a lot that cleared it up for me. I think I'll go with Frances the Mute for now, and see whats up with that. De-Loused is seriously, like one of the best albums I've ever heard. And Stars of the Lid is closed to a 5, but I don't know if it'll make it. | Jazzman85 Hey thanks for commenting. I didn't see you so far on this site since I've been on here I think so whats up? Anyway, I think I just fell in love with The Mars Volta haha. I knew the name before I got on the site, but never got into them, but they are right up my ally. I listened to their album "De-Loused" and loved it. They might be my new favorite band, and I've only been listening to them for a few hours as I type this haha. And you do have a good taste in music.

I would however have to say that as a slight fan of The Mars Volta, I have talked with others about the fact that they take avant-gardeness to far, but I still like them. I'll check out that thing you posted on my wall.

| Progmaster85 I actually like your reviews, well written. However, if you can find a spot on BTBAM's Colors that goes like this for 5 minutes: jwef;afjaklfbefkf;ab;k, I'd be surprised. The genre breaks are used as a relief for the layered metal sections, and usually, the second half of each song is a clean/jazzy take. The Mars Volta is so ****ing talented, but they take it too far, especially on Amputechture. Bedlam in Goliath sucks too. Octahedron is their best since De-Loused, and yes better than Frances.

| Progmaster85 to your opinion. I happen to enjoy Mars Volta sometimes, but they use odd combos of random sounds as 5 minute filler to often. But, I see you love Volta, which is totally fine. Be happy with what you listen too, thats what matters.

| Progmaster85 You are entitled to your opinion, friend. Planet of Ice is probably more of a 4.5 truly, but 5 to me because it's the first record in the genre that I loved. Many would disagree with you that Between the Buried and Me is annoying, I've actually discussed "Colors" with fellow musicians, most of whom would say that Between the Buried and Me are highly original and are fantastic musicians. Also, Minus the Bear is highly regarded by many staff members, especially on this site, but you are entitled

| Progmaster85 metalcore is something I grew up with, mostly, I don't care for most metalcore anymore like Killswitch yet I do still love August Burns Red because of the song structures, they intrigue me. I actually listen genres like Prog, 70's Prog, Indie, Post-rock/metal and melodic death metal more than I do those bands any more.

 | rasputin once you become a contributor, all you really need to do is post every now and then. there isn't too much expected of a contributor. staff obviously have more requirements.

| rasputin there really isn't anything to it at all. in the sputnikmusic section of the forums there is an application thread for both contributor applications and staff applications. read that thread, write up your own application and post it in there. whenever promotions are made your application will then be considered. as to what it entails, pretty much nothing. just post regularly, consistently good reviews - they prefer new releases, but that's more important for staff application.
