    January 11 08:06 PM
  • TheBarber Hello dude, I really like industrial and am getting more and more interested in some of it's rawer branches, since you've always seemed really knowledgable about it could you rec me your fav industrial albums/bands (not Coil, TG, SPK, Einsturzende or Hijokaidan tho please, I knows these already). Oh and by chance do you know any records similar to Var's No One Dances...? Your soundoff made me give the album a shot and I loved it. Cheers in advance! Love, Barber xxx

  • SadAndHolyGlow What are your thoughts on Aaron Dilloway's new album? I love lots of his stuff, including with Wolf Eyes, but "Siena" was a complete misfire to me.
    November 30 12:28 AM
  • Graveyard I looked at that 2013 list of yours and saw a lot of neat stuff on there. You should check out some of the stuff Nostilevo and Belaten have to offer.

  • Acanthus And I have/had a love for the newer styles of industrial more than the old, though I do appreciate what groups like Throbbing Gristle did for the genre/music in general.
    May 14 01:59 AM
  • Acanthus It depends, before I started to listen to music more I really enjoyed gothic/post-punk (we had an industrial/gothic/synthpop club night at my town). However after a year of hearing the same tunes over and over again I really got fed up with the genre(s) and my tastes started branching out. I go back to some artists from time to time, but it's dependent on my mood more often than not. Shameless plug for a friends group, check out Strap On Halo if you've a mind for some female fronted gothrock
    May 14 01:57 AM
  • conesmoke do u know much about dmt or how to navigate/have a good time whilst in the astral realm? I had a breakthrough a few weeks ago which rocked me hard... Definitely interacted with beings and got shown some monstrous figures surrounded by geometric patterns that cannot exist within human perception. Any wisdom on this topic would be greatly appreciated
    May 9 02:36 AM
  • BallsToTheWall Post punk/cold wave, death industrial, power electronics, that's stuff I really appreciate. I find great artists like Shinjuku Thief and Vladimír Hirsch but then I can't any of their material to hear outside the odd song on youtube which makes it challenging.

  • treeqt. Oh no, I'm perfectly fine with a 320 version. It's just that if there is a flac I'd prefer it and I couldn't find one right away. But yeah, if you don't know of one and I can't find one I'll just go with what google gives me.

  • YankeeDudel Ha thats great man theres a bunch of guys on sput making some good music now but not many seem to be playing live. Im not the biggest minimal wave/synth pop fan usually but when that stuff gets the atmosphere right it can be amazing. Ill def check those industrial albums out though so thanks.
    April 22 02:34 PM
  • YankeeDudel oh btw i see you're rating some stuff off my last list. good looks dude they rule and need wayyyy more lovin here

    March 18 11:12 PM
  • Grimlin cool man, i think it really is something to be proud of. keep me posted on the release. crazy someone basically snitched you out to zen, not that it's that big a deal or anything. what all did he say, if you don't mind me asking? he just mad you called him out, or was he defending his actions?
    March 17 10:07 PM
  • Grimlin oh yeah, i like it. yours that drekka remixed had a great subtle industrial layer under the drone, and drekka's that you remixed just had me in full drone lock; staring aimlessly. great job! when is the tape/cd/vinyl/8-track going to be released?
    March 13 09:34 PM
  • Grimlin sweet, i'll give it a listen
    March 13 07:35 PM
  • Graveyard sweet thanx, if u upload any more of his stuff let me knw (ill keep it a secret)
    March 12 04:46 PM
  • Graveyard are u still going to rip the cl stuff? i used to have a copy of leather s, but i had to sell it.
    March 11 12:49 AM
  • Grimlin april twenty-one? yeah i got that one. thanks a lot man, i appreciate it. got your split with kount in the mail today, by the way, but haven't listened yet

  • GiaNXGX thanks man. Good to see Schoenberg fans here!
    February 25 06:57 PM
  • Grimlin no worries, i really appreciate it. and again, if there's anything i have that you'd like a rip of, that doesn't come from vinyl, then let me know. i'll gladly return the favor.
    February 10 03:30 PM
  • Grimlin oh, and we can always still use soulseek if you don't want to bother with converting and uploading. just share the folder. i don't mind wav ;)
    February 6 10:08 PM
  • Grimlin i agree, the exchange rate of pounds to dollars combined with the high price of shipping overseas, is a wallet buster. and it's not like you can wait for a distro in the us to pick anything up since he rarely prints any more than 50 copies. i was doing well at collecting his discog but missed the last couple. i was pretty pissed. but apparently there is going to be an LP released in the somewhat near future that will contain some of the stuff i missed along with some other stuff, so that's cool
    February 6 10:06 PM
  • Grimlin haha, no worries. just thought i'd give you a reminder. did you snag the two new cl releases? they stayed up for an unusually long time this time around. why couldn't the last two have been like that?!
    February 6 06:04 PM
  • Grimlin you forget about me :'(
    February 5 07:07 PM
  • Graveyard Everything I do is self-released, but I hope in the future to release my material through a lable and have my art in a physical format, instead of digital.
    February 4 12:46 PM
  • Graveyard I was very influenced by the way Dominick Fernow recorded his material for Prurient, mostly due to amps and mics. So about 95 perecent of the stuff I recorded for my album was due to that method of just recording feedback and layering it with other voluptuous sounds.

    January 3 04:44 AM
  • Grimlin i'll look out for it. i'm Unmakable on last, and i just added you. by the way, if you hadn't figured it out, my post under yours was all the Torture Corpse releases. Robert Kroos, the guy behind it, is very much against his stuff being made available for dl, so i wanted to make it unsearchable, but by the looks of the amount of dl's they've gotten, not even blog followers are grabbing it:( don't really care though:)
    October 18 06:18 PM
  • TheSpirit honestly it's worth the purchase because it comes with two extra movements that really add to the album overall
    April 30 08:23 PM
  • TheSpirit the label that black swan is signed to went around to literally every blog with the link posted and had itd. you should be able to listen to the full thing on the bandcamp though
    April 30 08:18 PM
  • TheSpirit i can't give you the first black swan album atm but i can give a link to the second album if you're interested
    April 30 08:13 PM

  • WeepingBanana yeah that's the concert i'm referring to
    February 23 04:31 PM
  • WeepingBanana ya dude that AC concert was the bomb. me and my friend befriended these 2 other people and we all shared gratuitous amounts of weed. that's when i first heard "what would i want sky?" and then i heard it on Fall Be Kind and i was like awwww s***
    February 22 08:36 PM
  • DiceMan I've read Bend Sinister and Lolita by Nabokov too, both are really awesome especially Lolita (which you've probably read). I dig a lot of dark humor/well written cult classic books though like The Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart which is really funny. Right now though I've just started House of Leaves which is kinda like Pale Fire with the remarkably different approach to writing.
    January 1 06:27 PM
  • DiceMan Pale Fire is soooooo ****ing good.
    December 31 04:13 PM

  • MichaelJordan Marx's idea of "environmental" (rather, socioeconomic) determinism on the individual scale is probably best conceived according to Max Weber's notion of the ideal type. It's a sort of methodological fiction, invented for the ease of interpretation, which nevertheless possesses a general truth. It allows one to conceive of a general "type" of person generated by environmental/historical relations, even if no single individual perfectly matched the generalization.
    May 28 02:09 AM
  • MichaelJordan haha yeah did you get the Nietzsche reference?
    May 27 06:56 PM
  • robin things that are joe mcglone awesome: brian mcbride, avec ladeum or whatever, and that james contortions album. thx man. oh also i downloaded 'theoretical girls' album which is also pretty nice no wave methinks
    May 12 12:20 PM
  • MichaelJordan Yeah dude. every time I see your name i think of Adorno's essay "Kitsch" from 1932. as far as I know, he and Walter Benjamin were among the first to popularize the idea of the appearance of kitsch in modern society. Hermann Broch was writing about the idea around the same time
    May 6 04:00 PM
  • MichaelJordan well if you want to read their theories of art, get both volumes of the Oxford translation of Hegel's lectures on Aesthetics and the University of Minnesota's publication of Adorno's unfinished Aesthetic Theory. both of those are bomb. and you can download them from gigapedia.com or just steal them from a good bookstore
    May 5 08:42 PM
  • MichaelJordan Hey man, quality discussion on post-modernism's effects on art since the late 60s. You should read Arthur Danto on this s***. Kant, Hegel, and Adorno are always good too though
    May 5 07:54 PM

  • SeaAnemone and oh my god dudefest looks awesome... I rarely go to shows like that but I was lucky enough to see Algernon Caldwallader, Spires, Grown Ups, Snowing, Towers, and a few more bands for free. it was epic. and I'm REALLY hoping to see Suis La Lune sometime this summer, but TH is a little far away from PA
    May 2 02:14 PM
  • BigTuna wanna tell me if the review sounds better now?
    May 2 02:11 PM
  • SeaAnemone yeah, I'm from PA but I run NCAA D1 cross country and there's two races in Terre Haute every year I've gone to the past few years... Pre-nationals and Nationals... so I don't see a whole lot outside the insane (million $?!) cross country course and the generic hotels we stay in, but it looks incredibly dismal. Yeah, so much space though, I'm sure the outdoorsy stuff is good. And you're right... at least it's not Kansas.
    May 1 07:37 PM
  • SeaAnemone you're from Terre Haute?? ugh I'm sorry. I've been there a bunch of times and from what I've seen that area, outskirts of Indianapolis etc. has to be the most boring part of the country.
    May 1 05:44 PM
  • Meatplow Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - The Firstborn is Dead, Tender Prey, The Fall - This Nation's Saving Grace, The Raincoats - Odyspherethis shoutbox thing is a bit screwy, cut off half my recs. anyway a lot of this overlaps with first wave industrial/new wave which is to be expected. hope you find something you like
    April 30 10:06 PM
  • Meatplow Public Image Ltd - Metal Box, Cabaret Voltaire - Mix-Up, Deutsch-Amerikanische Freundschaft - Die Kleinen Und Die Bosen, Monte Cazzaza - The Worst Of Monte Cazazza, Throbbing Gristle - The Second Annual Report, Glenn Branca - Symphony No. 1, Lives Of Angels - Elevator to Eden, The Neon Judgement - Mafu Cage, Echo And The Bunnymen - Crocodiles, Grauzone - Eisbaer, Mission of Burma - Signals Calls and Marches, Orange Juice - Rip It Up, The Birthday Party - The Birthday Party
