 | YakNips well that's not exactly my area of expertise, your chords sound nice (like on the 3rd song) i would just focus on creating cohesive chord progressions that you can layer vocals or more guitar on top of, just copy the songwriting process of your favorite bands using chords and melodies you like

I've been wanting to try making something like David Mack or Dave Mckean would do- not necessarily dark or whatever they just used a bunch of different elements to make a piece or picture or whatever. I can draw, but I'm not that great at it and I'm not the best with computer editing so I thought trying something non-traditional might be interesting.

 | furpa Haha yeah it's definitely some new territory for Pile. Some of the songs have like weirdly post-rock-esque builds and I don't think there's a conventional chord progression on the whole record. It's a weird one.

| furpa It's a more subtle album though. Don't expect to be blown away first listen. It'll take some growing haha. Fingers is definitely a rager though.

| furpa YO! So the new Pile record, like, in terms of catchiness I don't really know.. there's nothing that really rivals the catchiness of The Jones or Mama's Lipstick or Afraid of Home. Maybe Rope's Length? But there's DEFINITELY some new Pile classics. Fingers, Dogs, and Slippery come to mind as the best tracks for sure. There's a drop in Slippery that blew my ****in head.

| Sniff Thanks a lot for checking and for the feedback. I was going for a more drawn out sound than regular chiptune and I deliberately tried to make these long static passages as noisy and unpleasant as possible. The tracks I'm working on now have a more common song structure and a lot less drawn out static parts.
