Shakalabbits was a pop punk/ska/alt band from Japan that formed in 1999. In the mid 2000's, the group were one of the most
popular bands within the Japanese punk scene, along with locofrank & 175R (the latter made a split single with the group in
2002, which proved to be a huge success). Around 2007, the group adopted a much more eclectic style, bonding their pop punk
style with an alternative spin. Their punky style can also be compared to the likes of Judy and Mary, especially frontwoman Uki's
vocals. In 2017, after nearly two decades of activity, Shakalabbits abruptly disbanded.
