With 2005's Have A Nice Day, Bon Jovi proved that they can still make the exact same radio friendly music they've made every since hair metal went out of style. With that being said, this album is basically the same generic not-too-hard-not-too-soft rock music we've come to expect from Bon Jovi.
From an overall standpoint, this album is just very uninteresting with a few standout rock tracks to keep it from being completely worthless. I Want To Be Loved has just enough melody to keep you hooked. But the best melodies on the entire album are found on Last Cigarette and Novocaine. The lyrics are understandable and the choruses and verses are all quite catchy. Another song, Wildflower, is a bit more unique. It's more of a soft, keyboard driven song, which is pretty nice to listen to. I Am is fun to listen to, though it's a little too emotional at times and can come off as cheesy. These are the album's high points.
The problem with the album is that each other song basically amounts to the same thing, a mid tempo rock song with two verses and a chorus that get sung too many times. This causes the listener to lose interest very fast. In some cases, songs can get too repetitive and annoying.
The largest flaw is the lyrics. I can understand what Jon Bon Jovi is saying 100% of the time, and it all ends up just being a little too lame. Sometimes the quality of lyrics can get so corny that you might expect a sixth grader to come up with that kind of thing.
Examples:
"When your world comes crashing down/Like you've lost every round/Stand your ground and ring the bells of freedom."

"Why you wanna tell me how to live my life/Who are you to tell me if it's black or white?"

"When the world gets in my face I say HAVE A NICE DAY!"

If you're big on Bon Jovi and like their other recent work, I'd say this is right for you. But if you're looking for something new and you prefer music that you can find a little more interesting, then I'd suggest to stay away.

Hi. You started well, however your descriptions got quite quickly shorter and shorter, a sign that you probably started losing interest/enthusiasm. I'd urge you to try and bring the shorter descriptions up to roughly the same level as the earlier ones. Also when you talk about the lyrics it's important to cite them.
I only know the title track from this, but I lost interest in Bon Jovi after Crossroads.

I despise Who Says You Can't Go Home, boring songs shouldn't be that catchy. I don't want to reittriate what Plath said, so just read the first part of his comment if you want to know how I felt about the review.
Decent work anyways.

I agree with Spat. Your description became more so vague as the review went on. Take your time when writing a review instead of just hacking one out in ten-fifteen-minutes.
Bon Jovi doesn't do it for me at all. All of the material seems average to me.This Message Edited On 05.28.06

Hey the descriptions only got thin because my sister was yelling at me to get off for twenty minutes. I'm gonna fix it now.

Yes, I am as mean as one of the more sadistic foxes or even a shark. But just remember that there's no rush to submit your reviews; do them in Microsoft Word or something and save it so you can go back to it later.

'It became a huge seller in the world of rock as well as the world of country.'
I don't know why, but that made me laugh so damn hard.
I gotta agree with the others too, a bit heavy on the vagueness. This Message Edited On 05.28.06

It's a good album although the best track isnt on the standard edition of the album. If you get the Limited Edition (Which got stolen out of my car, Damn you you little... ) it has an extra 2 tracks. One of the tracks is unbreakable, such an amazing song, a brilliant riff. Sliding between power chords gives you a real buzz and an excellent end to the album.

Not one of their better efforts. Bon Jovi can be great, and even after they turned into a total pop band they still have made some good stuff, but this disappointed me.

When I first got this I found it pretty entertaining being caught up in the Bon Jovi "fever" and all and placing an order and waiting for it.

So at first I thought it was pretty good. All the songs were pretty easy going and Bon Jovi-ish. But you know an album is good when you hear at least 4-5 songs that actually make you go wow and pay attention. Sadly, this album does not do that. besides the singles I can only remember Last Cigarette.

Slightly disappointing but for the fans, get it anyway. It's not that bad.

This review is awfully rushed and a bit too superficial.
