If this album were released as a Doug Yule solo album, which is how Doug Yule wanted it to be released, this album would not be so prominent on "Worst Albums of All Time" lists. But it's technically in the same discography as 4 classics, so of course people are gonna compare it to them. And it's clearly the worst out of the 5 studio albums released under the Velvet Underground name, but it's actually not bad, contrary to popular belief. There's a sizeable amount of people who say they hate this album that probably haven't even heard it. When I first listened to this record, I was waiting for the truly awful part to begin. But no, it's just fine. Not terrible, not a masterpiece, just fine. It actually has one or two great songs it, like Friends, Dopey Joe, and especially She'll Make You Cry. Give this album a try if you haven't heard it, and if you don't like it, that's fine, but it's actually not terrible.
