Review Summary: Even if the album title means something it is still terrible.
When I think of indie pop and electronic music I do not think of porno shops. Maybe I’m not horny enough. However, Satanicpornocultshop are intensely horny towards weirdo beat making, you can probably tell by the band name, album title and art. What they create is unexpected, and sometimes unexpected things are nice like when my wife randomly wants to “hug” me. Okay, maybe I’m a tad bit horny, but calm down folks, there’s only one of me and I’m married. Speaking of kissing, the song Feed Me w Ur Kiss (told you they were horny) features crunchy synths, filthy buzz guitars, indie pop vocals, and straight noise rock in a truly unconventional moment of music. Then the next track comes in, Glaneurs, featuring lovely horns and acoustic licks. We’re just getting started folks…
I don’t know what this band is, and neither will you. Expect a collection of haphazardly tossed together genres and eclectic, in-your-face sounds and off kilter rhythms. The tracks are generally creating catchy, if
weird as purple coffee glitch laden frenzies. It’s odd, it’s truly not recommended to try at home, and it’s worth showing off to your friends to confuse and most likely annoy them. Think Flying Lotus’ Cosmogramma mixed with even more randomness, and then laced with cutesy indie pop moments, as well as chill, horn-y tracks that bring to mind Bjork. No, it doesn’t make sense, but it’s downright entertaining! If you plan it right, the music could make some very interesting lucid dreams.
So, if you’re looking for a blast of nonsense, and a barrage of mini electronic explosions for your day, one might consider listening to a lo-fi version of Bangarang, or this. It is not for everyone, which is what makes it good. As it thinks outside the box, it challenges their audience to do the same. All this spunk in the trunk could power an electric grid, and with it, it gets the body a-moving and a-tingling. The power of rhythm is known well by (insert their awful band name here), and they use it to the fulfillment of alien excretions, or something along those lines. Surprisingly recommended, but then again, my EP HELLISH DEVICES is no more sane.
