Review Summary: Peachy keen electronic shit.
Four Tet walks along the line between easy listening for musical idiots, and weird *** that only music critic cunts would enjoy. Four Tet may fall off the fence directly into a cosmic vortex occasionally like the indulgence of Hi Hello, but you also get typical ingredients of electronic music, guaranteed for a succulent flavour! You get ambient tracks, bumpin’ beats and synths, vocal samples, nature sounds, the works baby! No doubt, some will just call this drug trip music for overdosers. *** those people, yet they are 50% correct. Sure, it’s weird, with puzzle piece sounds used from other puzzles, but they all fit and are lush and delicious (yes, puzzles are delicious, they are a healthy ingredient for the active mind bitch).
Some of these songs bump and grind and put raw body parts in trunks. Teenage Birdsong is pure dance floor energy for the sweaty midnight celebration of a stranger’s floral scents. Love Salad is also catchy, but the song title is a dog’s upchuck. These beat heavy songs go ham like a sandwich that doesn’t have ham, but instead has been turned into gold to slap your mom in the mother***ing face. Those sorta drum and bass songs are also not REALLY drum and bassy, which is very interesting. They are confirmed sandwich slappers though. The beats are diverse, and not, “Look at my new production app, it comes with drum kits!” The beats are raw and authentically natural, and honestly it’s tough to describe them aside from super duper cool. It sounds like Four Tet went around with a recorder and was like, “Wow! I didn’t realize how many sounds were in the world! Let’s use all of them!”.
Look at me reviewing electronic music again, I thought I was done with this ***. I’m so proud of myself, like I am proud of Four Tet. Four Tet still got it. I would’ve thought this artist would have fizzled out a long time ago like a miniature candle in Arctic winds, but no, they just had to prove me wrong and bless my cock on the blessed days of writing this cursed review. It’s a very enjoyable album. I stuck to this *** like bugs on a windshield. Despite how weird and funked up this selection of meats is, it always goes ham like a meat pleb. It’s pretty music, it’s fun music, it’s relaxing music, it’s Four Tet music. Woot woot goes the train.
