Review Summary: I don’t even know

Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, Breaking Benjamin decided to release yet another groundbreaking album. The band claimed that this was going to be their heaviest album ever and that it brought new ideas and creative approaches to their songwriting and style. However, after what has been released these claims have fallen short (which is typical). Being the contemporary rock band as they are, Breaking Benjamin only fills desires met more to their personal satisfaction rather than the listeners. This album brings nothing fresh and new to the table and instead we are left with the regurgitated, cookie-cutter composition and style that BB has provided in years past. This was not a suprise.
When I was listening to this album, I felt a vibe that was very similar if not identical to their previous release “Dark Before Dawn”. I could immediately hear the over-production and auto-tune that was used before. What truly hurts is that this band decided to not use their talent and resort to over the top mixing and mastering. Another thing that hurts about this band is how their last couple releases has changed nothing for the better. Going back to albums like “Phobia”, you can tell that each song was unique and different from eachother. Halfway through “Ember” it seemed as if the songs were just made to fill in time for the album, they don’t have any unique or diverse qualities within them. Even songs like their single “Red Cold River” was no different from their other singles, and left little to be desired. The only song I really enjoyed from this album was “Tourniquet”. This song reminded me of their older style more reminiscent of “Saturate”. If they could have changed it up with a few more of their songs, it would have probably done way better than what it is right now.
As much as I hate to say it, I actually like this band. Breaking Benjamin does their job of writing fairly catchy tunes for people to listen to. Even though I this release was extremely bland, I still believe that these guys have more potential. I feel like the lead singer should hold off the reigns and let the other guys take a shot at making a song. This could possibly breed a whole new sound for the band, but as long as they keep riding the same rollercoaster, the end result is still going to be the same.

There are a lotttt of grammatical and structural errors here, i.e "Even though I this". I'd recommend doing some proofreading since in terms of content, this is fine.

Put this on the other day out of morbid curiosity. These guys used to be my jam back in middle school, and it's kind of bizarre how much they sound exactly the same as they did 10 years ago.

Yea I don’t really care. I like how people still treat this site as a platform of grammar criticism. This is an album review, not the fucking Gettysburg Adress. Stop acting like you deserve the best of the best because that is never going to happen.

You could take the criticism and improve your reviews so viewers can watch you get better and not cringe into a hernia every time they see a review by you.

^^^

Whats the point of writing a review if your not willing to improve upon it from criticism and become a better writer, having your opinion backed by an poorly made review means no ones gonna take you seriously, especially if you're ignorant to changing/improving it

This is an album review, not the fucking Gettysburg Adress.

^ Is anyone here old enough to remember Progmaster's famous line "YES! A MASTODON GUITAR SOLO?" Well, this could rival it.
