Review Summary: flood my veins

Palace are a band you would be forgiven for having never heard of. Lost in the Light is their first release and it's certainly not an EP that has created massive waves within the indie music scene, however this is not for lack of quality, individuality or talent.

Palace are a quartet from London who have a very unique sound. Their songs are dripping wet with bluesy grandeur and a soulful warmth which is reminiscent of classic greats such as Jeff Buckley's "Grace". The band form their sound thanks to lead singer Leo Wyndham's silky smooth, Buckley-esque vocals complimenting the ambience created by Rupert Turner's guitar playing which has a luscious, vintage quality to it.

The stand out track for me is "Veins". A soothing lullaby which is atmospheric enough to get lost within despite it's honesty and simplicity.
The quality of all 5 songs on the EP suggest that this band have a lot to offer and are absolutely worth keeping an eye on.

yeah man it's a really good little EP. It's always refreshing to hear an indie band trying something a little different
