Review Summary: The dream team of punk rock is back with a kick-ass album.
Ahh, Rise Records. By now everyone should know who they are. Usually the label is infested with bands that scene kids go Gaga over like Of Mice & Men, Sleeping With Sirens, etc. Anyways, with the exception of those crappy bands on the label, they do in fact have talent that comes on their label every once in a while. This is one of those bands. Meet Only Crime, and If you have been in the punk scene, you probably have heard of them, but if not, I'll give you a quick history lesson. They formed in 2003 with Good Riddance vocalist Russ Rankin and Bane guitarist Aaron Dalbec in 2003. They released two albums, To The Nines, and Virulence, with the other members , Bill Stevenson from Black Flag, Descendents and ALL, and the Blair Brothers from Hagfish.
Now comes the third album, Pursuance. By now you should see with a line-up like this, it's a punk-lover's dream, and it definitely fulfills that dream with the new album. The ironic thing about this band is that when they singed to Rise, all the kids who worshipped the scene bands they loved, hate this band. Why? because they don't have constant breakdowns, high vocals, and sing about love. This band's new album has catchy lyrics, catchy riffs, basically everything that makes a great punk album. by the first song, it hits you in the face with the first song, "We are divided", which sounds like a punk man's anthem. the whole album has a great, kick-ass vibe to it that will probably make you wanna stand up, shake your fist, and break stuff in your house. Bill Stevenson's drum work on this album is excellent, and fits with the great riffs that are set in stone by the Blair Brothers.
If you are a punk fan, you will wanna get this album. It's great and solid, just like both of their previous albums, and will want to make you stand up and sing along with the whole band.
