This is the only release from "The Levels" a Gold Coast (Australia) band. There is only three songs on the disc, but they are well worth it. On this cd, The Levels' influences are very apparent, their main ones being The Beatles, Radiohead, Coldplay and Doves.

The Levels create very uplifting music, with a distinct style of instruments and vocals.

The Band
Spencer Shakespeare: Vocals
Mark Aitchison: Instruments

Radiant- A happy song, starts out with an acoustic guitar and an electric playing lead with a wah pedal. The vocals come in, and sound nice. After the verse, there is a piano playing chords, which adds to the music well. After a while, there is a guitar solo, no shredding or anything, just a nice lead part. Lyrics are great, and you can hear the emotion in Spencer's voice. Then the song ends and goes into...

Beautiful Face- Starts out nice and quiet with some piano block chords and vocals. A little while later, a really cool ascending bass line comes in, and some simple/effective drumming. There is also a bit of handclapping in here. For some reason I really like it when bands do this. The lyrics in this song are really nice too. My only criticism is that the outro is a tad weak. In my opinion, this is The Levels' best song.
4.5/5

Angels- A cool little organ thing intros this song, however, it doesn't really have anything to do with the part that follows. The rest of the song is really cool, a bit similar to the previous tracks. Towards the end, the direction of the song totally changes and it works like magic. The drumming towards the end of the song is a tad more complex than previous songs. Overall a great song.

This is a great band, but it's too bad they broke up. If anyone is interested in mp3s, contact me at hartwigandrew@gmail.com.

I have this ep.

It is decent, although it sounds a lot like Oasis at some points.

Good job posting your friends band Bread.
