Formed in 1991, Los Angeles, California born and raised Glue Gun have become legendary in the unsuccessful world. It was formed by
Bob Oedy after his previous project
The Grim called it quits in 1989. The band debuted in 1994 with
Just Glü It and have since then they have inspired all the good and bad in the world. Now with more line up changes they are as solid as ever in 2006 as fans await their upcoming release that will be the follow-up to
The Scene Is Not for Sale.
The Scene Is Not for Sale is a good album. A friend of mine from school gave me a copy of this album on CD and enjoyed listening to it. I always thought it would be one of the best Glue Gun albums and has a real early punk sound to it. This is actually their first album as
Just Glü It was released by their former name
Glü Gun. This album also features the second line-up Bob Oedy (vocals), Jeff Roberts (guitar), George Snow (guitar), John North (bass) and Jody Kern (drums).
I'd say
The Scene Is Not For Sale is a good buy for Glue Gun fans in general. What I don't like about this album is that it's now very hard to find in stores, but you can try downloading the songs from their Myspace page. I've also been glad to hear that Glue Gun got back together and I just can't wait to hear Glue Gun's follow-up to this album coming out sometime later this year or next year. I think this album and
Just Glü It should be remastered, so I can be able to listen to them both and hopefully their next album won't be a hard to find release.

Finishing at just over 21 minutes, the listener may need a few more listens to let the scope of this album sink in. Although this album is over 10 years old, it is still as relevant and as powerful as it was when it was released all those years ago. I urge you to purchase this if it is not in your album collection. Definitely one for all the punk fans out there.
