Same band, new album. Some people would call it just the average olí CD. Some people would consider it great, poor, or horrific. If you ask me, I donít think that is great, poor, horrific, or your average CD. I think itís a great work of art done by Less Than Jake. This was a great step up after their step down (Anthem), or so people say. I bought this cd in late December, but didnít care to listen to it until the other day. I have been listening to it non-stop ever since. So, what makes this album so great? Well, keep reading, and Iíll tell you.
This CD once again, has lyrics about stress, depression, and how your life can really suck. Actually, thatís pretty much every CD theyíve made. But thatís not the point. The point is, no matter how many songs talk about stuff like that, Vinnie always makes it creative so they never sound the same. Take Portrait of A Cigarette Smoker at19
and listen to the song. This song talks about how everyone these days are just messed up, and are just losers and how he used to be one of those ďpeople." A.S.A.O.K.
is pretty much the same.

Also, same with Nine-One-One To Anyone
. AND, also, same with National Anthem
. Iím not going to post all these songs, but Iím just telling you which ones have good, solid lyrics. Onto vocals. As I said in my other LTJ review, Chris and Roger do good dual vocals. I really shouldnít need to explain this again, though they also show in this album again. You guys should already know that, I mean, like, WTF. So, with that said and done, I now give youÖInstruments. Wooooo.
Instruments and stuff.
And, I also donít need to do the band line-up again. You guys should already know that. One of my FAVORITE songs on here is Bridge and Tunnel Authority
. The guitar part is so cool, and is so fun to play. I almost got it down. Same with the bass part. Its fun, its awesome, and I almost got that down, too. x100. Portrait of a Cigarette SmokeÖ
is also a really cool and fun song to play. Especially on bass. Now, that song, I have down already. I even have it tabbed on Mxtabs. Ahem, Iím sorry. I shall stop at this moment. There arenít too many other ďcreative" songs on here, though I do like Jay Frenzal
. Cool song, very cool. I really canít go into detail or anything about their playing, because its perfect, it really is. Iíve told you all their creative stuff, and thatís what I really look at/really like. So, I declare the Instrument part done.
Overall Thoughts, Opinions, and Rating
It seems as though every ***iní review I do, I always give it a 4 or a 5. Itís impossible for me to give a CD lower than a 3 unless I REALLY hate it. Which ainít too many CDís. This one, I give a 4. This was a fantastic step up from Anthem, and Iím proud of LTJ. (Though, Iíve heard some songs off of their new CD. I donít like them. Booo!)
Songs that grab my attention and ones that YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO.
