Review Summary: its just basic math
67 of 113 thought this review was well writtenpost-rock giants godspeed you! black emperor are back guys. they started touring some year im assuming recently probably to make money and stuff (fuk yea$$$!) and i dont blame them. theyre legends, best band ever, etc. now, out of nowhere they drop this beautiful album consisting of 2 previously written songs and 2 "drones" and thats cool cuz $$$ (right on!) and what do i think of this album, exactly? i think we should look at the math
the 2 songs on here are breathtaking, sprawling (lol) gy!be songs they're like 20 minutes or longer and they start small and get big just like all the good gy!be songs. these songs are 5/5 and are objectively better than anything else on this planet. major props to the song with fire in the title for being really good
then, we have the 2 drones. they go nowhere and do nothing just being a thing for much longer than a non-thing should ever be it's just a waste of space and a waste of time. it's like so artsy tho because both drones are placed in between the actual songs on the tracklist, like heres how awesome we are for 20 minutes and heres how sh
itty you are for 7 minutes. these drones are -5/5 because i hate them. no props for these sorry
ok there are a lot of ways to look at this but the only correct way is mathematically.
but gy!be is all about the feeeeels man no fuk off this is basic math 2 songs are 5/5 2 songs are -5/5 okay well 5/5 is equal to 1 and -5/5 is equal to -1. add them together (remember, 2+-2 is the same as 2-2) and you get 0. alternatively, no nevermind this is right
