Review Summary: Well, this is a nice amount of gore.

Necro is an underground rap star who achieved a certain amount of underground attention in the late 1990's and 2000's. To date he has released 7 albums, each of which is a decent album in its own right. However, i am going right back to his first ever album, I Need Drugs, released back in 2000. Before hand he had been known for his demo's and his freestyles but this was the first album which defines his sound.

Necro has a style of music that is known as Death Rap, a term he invented. Before his career in rap, he played in a Death Metal band with his brother, but once he discovered rap, he moved into that. However, he opted to use much heavier and more dense beats and far more violent, gorey, graphic lyrics about murder, sex and drugs to his rap colleagues. He created a unique form of rap music that took things to extremes that had never been touched upon before.

This is not as extreme as some of his later albums, but the lyrics are still rather violent and over the top. This is a nice introduction to Necro's style as you are not likely to be too shocked to start with, but will probably be surprised by the talent this man possesses. He has a flow that can not be touched by many rappers, and lyrics that are both visceral and well written. The best song on here is Your ***in Head Split, which is one of the most violent songs the artists ever made, but also one of his finest, if not standing as the best he has ever written to date.

The amazing thing is that the rapper only got better, and the critics agreed. This album got relatively negetive reviews that stated that he tries to be too shocking and it comes across as boring. This is not necessarily true, as each song here is well written, but to a degree this is acceptable as a statement. Necro does try to hard on this album. Also, the beats on this album are not as fresh as they are on later albums such as Death Rap and The Pre-Fix For Death. However, this still manages to be a good album, and an interesting listen.
