Review Summary: The name does not include this album.
Since the release of the band's outstanding debut, it is hard to deny the evolution they have made since then. Though they have never recreated an album quite like that, they have made still revolutionary music in the punk scene. This album takes absolutely everything the Descendents are really good at, and reforms it into a formula not seen too often before by these men. Everything Sucks is still a good portrayal by the punk geniuses Descendents.
Everything Sux is an upbeat song with good vocal qualities and excellent instrumentation. The breakdowns in this song are also really heavy and very good. Many other songs on this album portray this kind of style, including "Rotting Out" or "Doghouse". Other tracks are just really small, but still reflect a sense of decency, and you know what it is they're trying to do. "Coffee Mug" is the best example of this, but though it is a little longer, "Caught" does the same and is more or less pure entertainment. "When I Get Old" is the best example of the true punk that these men pioneered in their debut. It has some of the best instrumentation on the album next to "Everything Sux", and is very comedic and punk-ish in its lyrics. It is definitely a high score for this amazing album. After all of this excitement the album gives you, "Thank You" comes on. When this track comes on, I myself am saying the same thing, "Thank You". This song starts off immediately with amazing guitars, and quickly goes into the vocals that are very melodic and very decent.
This album goes all the way all the way through. I recommend it to anyone.
