Review Summary: If Dr. Feelgood, American Psycho and Walt Disney were joint impregnated and had a baby in hot topic, this would be the baby.

Black Veil Brides, the latest band all the teenagers are following and raving about. All how there music is so 'in depth' and 'emotional' and how front many Andy Biersack is the greatest singer in the world. Me, being a teenager, is sick of this band and all his friends raving about how awesome they are when they really are a bunch of hot topic teens dressing up, teasing their hair and wearing lots (I mean LOTS!) of make up.

I first heard of this band back when they released their first LP and although their wasn't that much tracks on it, I really enjoyed it. Songs like 'Sex And Hollywood' and 'Hello My Hate' sounded like they ripped the guts of a billy idol song out and modernized it. I thought this was pretty cool and I had high hopes, then that devil Knives And Pens was released and all the little emo's started raving on about it, the more teens raving in my school, the more my hatred grew. Since that time they have released one ***ty album and just recently they released their new album 'Set The World On Fire'

When I first turned this on I expected the same old awful screams and dull singing their last album and to my suprise, I was only half right. Nearly no screaming at all is used in this album and although Andy Biersacks voice is still dull as ever, consistent use of auto-tune makes the album alot more bearable.

I actually started to really enjoy this album, It was like Motley Crue and The Misfits were smashed together for Disney channel and although that sounds ultra corny, it works quite well. The guitaring is strong and is supported by great drum tracks. Unfortuatley the bass is overlooked here and you can rarely hear it, but it's not that much of a problem.

Speaking of problems, behind the nice song structure and instrumentals, there's alot of problems here. First of all, the lyrics of awful, bad enough to make you cringe. They are obviously aimed at young emo's to make them feel good about themselves and loved, but these are just so bad. Especially in the song 'Fallen Angels' where it's the obvious cliche of 'outcast' and 'individuals' trying to get noticed. The song loses all hope where biersack shouts out the chorus lyrics about screaming and shouting and all the other bull*** these hot topic bands talk about.

The songs also lack any originality and individuality. BVB rip off nearly every hard rock, metal, metalcore and emo cliche here and mash them up in to 4 minute long songs. It also gets harder to get through the album when almost all the songs sound the same (excluding the slower songs but they're so bad they are not even worth mentioning.)

Sometimes I think to myself, "Why did I even bother with this album?" The answer is I never should have. It's obvious that they tried to appeal to more of an audience this time around rather then the girly emo's that 'We Stitch These Wounds' was obviously aimed at. But I think this album will still only appeal to the girly emo's because this album is just a hit and miss in creating a decent metal album. The song structure and instrumentals are there but they are just destroyed by awful singing, horrible lyrics and repetitiveness

So all metalcore, metal, hard rock, punk rock or fans of real music are reading this, DO NOT LISTEN TO IT.

I can't believe this has four reviews, at least the general rating is the correct one.

Top rated YouTube comment on one of their videos:
"i hate this world..

i have to go school tomorrow n my friend is saying that she won't without any fucking reason..

n i don't talk to any other in my class..

m new :'(

fuck the world..

love you BVB :')"

Facepalm. I listened to one of their songs, just to see what all the teenage emo girls are hyping... And it is horrible. The lyrics may be some of the most generic, awful lyrics I've ever heard. I want 4 minutes of my life back.

Yeah the title track is the only half decent track

I presume you mean the title track and not the entire album

well yeah only reason i have it is because its on the transformers soundtrack, doesnt matter though it's catchy. Image and music is so far apart though. How could such a lady bitch sing so deeply and manly?

Listen to Saviour. You'll forget all catchiness and want to destroy the band.

It seems that those who detested this band is in serious need of hearing tests. The style of which, Black Veil Brides, presents its music with is more of a clean, pure rock style- seems those who don't think so... ARE REALLY TONE DEAF!
