I’m not entirely sure how one applies the old saying, “fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me,” when it's been several offenses. The consensus that might have been scared Emmure would progress need not fret about Speaker Of The Dead’s minimal tweaking. It’s painfully clear the absence in growth is to keep the pit ninja brethren content who blindly think "brutality" suffices for substance. I often wonder how many times a band of this nature can beat a dead horse until their fans demand more bang for their buck.
The album commences with the repetitive breakdown intro, “Children of Cybertron,” that has Durst version 2.0 barking alpha male threats. Deja vu transpires upon further inspection, evidently due to the same recycled garbage that mirrors a vague Goodbye To The Gallows twist. Apparently the big evolution in Emmure’s redundant legacy is randomly assorted electronics. The trained ears not sheltered by a fitted cap will surely still notice unoriginality at its finest.
It comes as no surprise that nothing ideally stands out on this fifth plague. The horrible rapping that reared its ugly head on the previous nu-metal revival is thankfully whittled down immensely. It’s difficult to assess what areas Emmure have improved on because Joey Sturgis’s crisp production has extremely masked their pathetic lack of musicianship. Infamous frontman Frankie Palmeri continues to feature ridiculous layers of high and low sections with obnoxious spoken word to coherently mark some of the most horrendous lyrics ever muttered.
I’ve noticed a blow job obsession has manifested in Frankie and he's not battling hard to keep it a secret. The misplaced masochism has shifted from therapeutic to downright disturbing in 'Drug Dealer Friend' where he growls, “I want to watch you suck his dick-I know you fucking love it bitch." The mind boggling content on the rest of the album basically covers nothing but Palmeri's kooky theories on extraterrestrials and conspiracies over an overwhelming fifteen tracks. "I'm ready to kill for my beliefs-are you with me in this fight?"...I'm good bro.
The guitarists rarely decide to leave the first fret board other than to mimic an era when Korn ruled the world. It's a struggle to grasp why Mulholland needs a Telecaster and Ketive plays a seven string Ibanez when both appear fairly satisfied with strumming in binary code. When the bass isn't being dragged across the floor Davis exhibits audible contributions but wastes them on numbing chugs. The suavest part about Kaabe is his vivid collection of fargo-esque hats but his drumming contains a bore fest that sparks a case of Alzheimer’s.
I advise curious participants to skip Speaker Of The Dead unless it’s a familiar stomping ground. I suppose an unrelenting optimist could say it’s the best conception Emmure’s accomplished since their debut on Victory. Realists in attendance, however, will merely get a heap full of comical relief if they're into that sort of morbid entertainment. When “Word Of Intulo” abruptly winds down, all that's left is another chapter breeding delusional animosity. The felony is reduced to a misdemeanor but it remains a crime.

| | | Okay andcas, I like you very much, so here's what's going to happen: I'm going to neg this review, but I'm going to do my best to explain why. I think you're a good writer and I really want to see you improve, so here we go.
This review is poorly-written for several reasons, the first of which is that there's lots of punctuation errors: no dashes where there should be, awkward placement of periods and commas, etc. For example:
i.) I mean it couldn’t possibly get any worse than the last road less endeavor
Road-less?
ii.) In addition my senses peaked when I discovered that the producer selected was none other than the infamous Joey Sturgis.
Comma after "In addition".
Secondly, the review has lots of unnecessary filler. The first paragraph and a half, for example, should go. They add nothing to the review except to provide a bare semblance of context which really could have been presented better (more on that later). Thirdly, the review is waaaaay too conversational - too many personal pronouns. This reads like a blogpost, and it's incredibly heard to take you and your opinions seriously because you sound too entangled in your personal misgivings on the band.
Fourthly, the review is verbose. By this I mean that it uses big words that are either a.) unnecessary even within the context, and b.) completely misplaced. Worse, it ends up creating sentences that don't make sense; here:
i.) It’s painfully clear that’s absent on the agenda in the pathetic steps (or lack thereof) taken to keep the ninja sheep content that blindly think brutality somehow suffices as a supplement for substance.
What?
ii.) The Palermi trademark formula continues to resonate multilayered high-low sections that meet inserted talking to coherently highlight the most valid points.
Huh.
iii.) The slick production is merely the main defining factor in cloaking the illusion of a refreshed vibe.
I'm quite lost.

| | | But now let's talk about content. You're clearly trying to sound intelligent, non-committal and lackadaisical in this review - the average reader will guess at the same thing based on how you've thrown grandiose words out and extremely detached points willy-nilly. But they don't always work, and your meaning is always lost between the mess of your personal word-jumble. Here:
i.) The horrible rapping that reared its ugly head on the previous nu-metal revival is ever present but thankfully the abundance has been whittled down immensely.
There's got to be an easier way to say that there's less rapping in this album.
ii.) Unfortunately the drumming contains a bore fest that when accompanied with the rest of the member’s sheer velocity sparks the illness of Alzheimer’s.
I know what drumming is, I know what speed playing is, and I know what Alzheimer's is, but I don't know what you're trying to get at when you marry all three concepts like this.
iii.) When the lackluster closer “Word Of Intulo” winds down all that thrives is another tattered chapter breeding delusional animosity in the pit.
No idea what this metaphorical pit is.
Finally, your sentences: they smash into each other and create an unholy mess. Make the segues more smooth and effective. Lines like "I was certainly taken for a loop of misdirection by wishful thinking. Slap on the wrist in neglecting blind-siding someone is a bros go to move" read very awkwardly; say it out loud for yourself and see. It sounds like some half-conscious psychobabble to be honest with you.
I hope this wasn't too harsh andcas; I'm certain it was for the best though. You clearly know how to play with language, and you manage to analyze several important points, yet all of your skills are lost in this particularly convoluted review. Hopefully your next piece is a return to form. Cheers!
