Review Summary: A band that is capable of doing much better, but pulls off a mediocre album that gives nothing new to the Metalcore genre.
Ok, this band never really did anything great, but i always expect the best of every band, and obviously this disappoints me a lot. British Metalcore bands are usually good, and this band's previous release was nothing great but it was worth listening to.
The songs in this album are simple, predictable and sound pretty much the same, Jack Delany's voice has not improved much since their last album. In fact, I donĀ“t think this band improved in any way at all. The music is repetitive, and every song is forgettable. Also, there are breakdowns all over the place, which ends up getting boring after a while.
Still, this isn't totally bad, these guys have talent, they just don't use it as they should. The guitar work is good, lyrics aren't bad, drums sound cool, but when you finish listening to "Breathless" it just doesn't feel like anything special, the whole album shows potential but ends up being mediocre and generic. With this record, The Eyes Of A Traitor regressed instead of progressing.
When I listened to their first album i thought they had potential to be a great metalcore band in the future, if they improved their musical skills, but this just proved me wrong.
This is a short review because there isn't much more to say, i just hope they try harder next time, because seriously, i'm shure nobody will remember this.
