Review Summary: The only thing more lazy than Brokencyde's new album is their music videos.

Now, I'm not sure who's idea it was to form such a genre, but I can picture it. A couple kids thinking of things that girls like.

"They like that screamo stuff. They like tight pants too. And scene hair. Maybe we could up the rebellion a little bit a make a hip-hop project! But it will be more than that, we will also mix hardcore vocals!"

And soon comes this. A genre of music called crunkcore, fusing together two genres, poppy hip-hop and hardcore, and believe me, they make sure to mix the worst of both.

I decided to give this album a listen. I obviously wasn't expecting much. The creatively titled "Intro" gives the listener a strange, almost spacey feel. If listeners had never heard of this band, they may think it what was to come might be something interesting, something.. creative. A few quick seconds later, the album moves to the song Freaxx, and any new listeners to Brokencyde would then realize that there is no creativity put into this whatsoever.

The beats are stale and feel recycled. The beat from "Scene Girlz" really sounds like it belongs to a Britney Spears record. Actually, every single beat on the album feels like a different variation of another. There are certain minute changes in pace, but that's more or less it. If they made a instrumental version of this album, I would probably confuse every single song for another from different artists. If I could explain this album to you instrumentally, it would go something like this: obnoxious high-pitched synth and generic drum beats, occasionally going to a softer part after the second chorus. But maybe Brokencyde has more to focus on than their beats. After all, their vocals have to take some talent. Right?

Well.. they use Autotune. Since this is sorta-kinda electronic music, I will excuse the Autotune, despite the fact that they do absolutely nothing with it. Their vocalist has to be one of the only people I know that sounds monotone even WITH Autotune. No matter when those edited vocal cords come into play, they seem to sound hideously lazy and effortless.

And their harsh vocalist, Se7en, is probably the best part of their songs. And he sucks too. He has ONE pitch. This high-pitched shriek. He never goes low or higher. It's always the EXACT same pitch. And he always seems to want to say "RAAAAUGH". In every. Single. Song. And I have to really question his existence in the band. Brokencyde seem to want to write feel-good songs, yet his screams completely take feel-good out of the question. I thought screams were intended for chaos. If you follow Brokencyde's lyrics, the only chaotic things that could happen are what? Maybe getting in a drunken laughable excuse for a fight, hangovers, and uh.. maybe crabs.

Ah, yes, let's not forget those lyrics. Songs about partying are fun, right? We all love to dance to those mindless songs about sex and partying every now and then, right? Well.. take out the every now and then and you have Brokencyde's lyrics. I wish I counted how many times I heard the words "party", "drunk", and "dance floor". And, you would think with such mindless lyrics that they would eventually think of something creative with them, and that's the sad part. They don't.

"Let's get freaky now. Let's get ***ing freaky now."

"And take your panties off ho.. Take your sweater off too."

I could go on and on listing their pure meaninglessness, but there's no point in that. Their lyrics are like mainstream hip-hop, except worse; they have no flow whatsoever. I would be surprised if thirty minutes were taken into the making of these lyrics.

So, yes. The infamous Brokencyde. Awful beats, awful vocals, and awful lyrics. my only question to anyone reading this is: what does anyone see in them?

I was considering giving this a 1.5, but then I realized that there was not a single thing about the album that was good. At all.
