Release Date: 1998 | Tracklist

This is a live cd of a concert that 311 did in New Orleans back in 1998. Since it took place in `98, there aren't any songs from any of the albums that have come out since then, but this album is still worth listening to. Come on, Music, Grassroots, Blue Album, and Transistor, plus a b-side and a cover, that's good enough for me. This album definitely shows you how 311 rocks it live.

1. Down- One of 311's classics. I love this song. It's a rock/hip hop song that is fast paced and energetic. They usually don't play this song until near the end of the show, but it's the first song on this album. Great song, especially when played live. 5/5

2. Homebrew- I love how they transistion from Down to Homebrew on this album. They have a little bit of the band introducing themselves and just saying "what's up"...stuff like that in between songs, and then it busts into this amazing guitar/bass part that is the intro to Homebrew. This song is another one of the classic rock/hip hop songs 311 does. 5/5

3. Beautiful Disaster- O.K. three singles in a row, this is starting to sound like a greatest hits album or something. Not that thats a bad thing. This is one of the only semi-normal songs from Transistor. It's kind of a mellow rock/reggae song that most of you have already heard from the radio. This is a good one. 4/5

4. Misdirected Hostility- Alright, a rarity, this is more like one of their live shows. This is a rock/hip hop song from the blue album with a powerful intro and an extra verse added to the end during the outro. I got to hear this song at the show I went to this year and it's as good on the live album as it is in real life. This song definitely makes the album better. 4.5/5

5. Freak Out- I'm pretty sure that they play this song at almost every show they do. When you go to a 311 show, this song is something to look forward to. This song is another rock/hip hop song with a really catchy chorus and great vocals from Nick and S.A. This song is awesome. 5/5

6. Nix Hex- This song has never been one of my favorite 311 songs, but I like it more and more every time I listen to it. In the live version, they have a guitar solo at the end that isn't in the original version from Music. It's a slow paced funk song that picks up a little bit and switches the style to a rock/hip hop song here and there. It's a pretty good song. 3.5/5

7. Applied Science- Here is a song that they play at every single show that they do. This has Chad's signature drum solo that, when they play it live, is about 5 minutes long. In this album it's only Chad playing drums, but in about 2001 they gave everyone in the band a drum and in changed into a sort of tribal drum solo. This album wouldn't be a live album without this song. This song is one of their best, especially on this album because of the drum solo. Other than the drum solo, it's another rock/hip hop song that you either like or you don't there is no in between. 4.5/5

8. Omaha Stylee- If 311 did a best of album this would be on it. This is a powerful rock/hip hop song from Grassroots that is about the town that they come from, Omaha, Nebraska. This song is better live than on the album. I got to hear this song live recently as well and it's awesome live. 5/5

9. Tribute- This song is a b-side that they havent played since 8-27-02! When I first heard this song I fell in love with it right away. It's full of style and time changes and is different from all other 311. I love it. It has a little bit of rock and a little bit of reggae, it's awesome. This is definitely one of the highlights of the album. 5/5

10. Galaxy- This song used to be one of my favorite songs, but it's not really anymore. It's a song from Transistor that has only S.A. on vocals. It's a rock/hip hop song that has a lot of swearing...i love it. This song is rarely played live anymore. It's a good one. 4/5

11. Light Years- This song is one of the wierdest songs that they do. It's on Transistor, that would probably explain it. Its a hard core reggae song that has some really wierd effects and some even wierder lyrics. You kind of have to be a big 311 fan ro really appreciate it. 3.5/5

12. Hydroponic- This song is awesome. They've played this song at both of the shows I've been to and it's been amazing each time. It opens up with a really powerful bass part kind of like Solar Flare and leads into a hard core rock/hip hop song kind of like Solar Flare. This song and Solar Flare are so much alike it's amazing. This song is awesome. I'm really glad they included it on this album. 4.5/5

13. Who's Got The Herb?- This is the song that everyone wants to hear live. No matter what show you go to, all of the fans will start chanting for this song at some point. They've got a good reson to. It's about smoking weed. It's such an awesome song. It's mostly reggae except for the rock ending that they've just recently added about 2 years ago, so the rock ending isn't on this album. I've yet to hear this song live, but I can't wait until the time I will. 5/5

14. Feels So Good- Here's another one that they play at prettymuch every show. This song has P-Nuts most well known bass solo. It's a funk/rock/hip hop song that has some reggae on the live version. It doesn't matter where you're sitting or how tired you are when you are at their live show, you have to jump up and down when they play this song. Everyone in the whole place just starts jumping when they play this song, it's awesome. This song is great. 5/5

Well, that's it. This album is awesome. I'm really glad that I own it. Go pick it up if you like the stuff I've said about it.
