One time, I thought it'd be cool to let my Christian grandmother listen to Angel of Death. Usually, she's pretty open-minded when it comes to music, unlike many other Christian old ladies. She enjoys the occasional AC/DC song, and she likes Snoop Dogg too. So I figured, "Hey, what if she likes Slayer,". As soon as the opening riff came out, within five or six seconds of the song starting, she frantically and anxiously cried, "I just can't handle this," and then she promptly left the room. She didn't even make it to Tom Araya's scream. It put a smile on my face.
So yeah, that's how brutally awesome Slayer is. No other band, especially in the genre of metal, has that type of power. Slayer is evil, and it just sounds good. I've let my grandma listen to everything from Gwar to Dethklok to Iron Maiden (The Number of the Beast
of course), and NOTHING has garnered a single reaction from her. She just sits there, quietly thinking to herself, "My grandson likes
this!". But Slayer actually made her leave the ***ing room.
So yeah, Reign in Blood is brutal and anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar. Buy this album now.
(And my mom hates this *** too.)
