Dysentary Gary
Adam's Song
Wendy Clear

For many this is Blink 182's worst release. They had signed to a big label, had all the publicity power in the world and decided to follow up one of Pop-Punks greatest albums (Dude Ranch) with a piece of utter crap. Well utter crap is a bit to harsh however this is the weakest album from the trio from San Diego in California.

The album kicks off with the great 'Dumpweed'. One of DeLonge's better riffs and has some great lyrics. It continues Blinks tradition of great opening songs and it's one of the albums standout songs. If there was a maturity button after this song it would be turned right up. Don't Leave Me is a very poppy catchy pop-punk song but it lacks anything to make it a stand out song. Aliens Exist is next and it's a fun song. Going Away To College and What's My Age Again follow. Chances are you would have seen these played to death back in the days of this album on MTV so moving on to what is probably the best 'I've been dumped song' ever, Dystensary Gary. It's immature but the final chorus is where it connects to you and though it's poppy it's a song which will grab you. In the final chorus Tom sings 'Fuck this place, I lost the war, I hate you all, Your moms a whore, Where's my dog? Cause girls are such a drag'. It's a song to listen to when been dumped. Adam's song is a highlight. Written about the suicide of a fan of the band it's one of the most powerful and emotional Blink songs. Definately a stand out track. Three very mediocre songs follow this; All The Small Things, Mutt and The Party Song. Wendy Clear comes in and makes up for the previous songs. A fun, very catchy song this is an highlight near the end of the album. The album finally ends with Anthem which is a pretty average song.

So really it's pop-punk at it's poppiest and most immature on this album. Maybe a Blink fan would enjoy this but for anyone who's thinking about getting an album by the band for the first time stay away from this one. There are some good songs on it but also alot of mediocre. Buy if you like your pop-punk Poppy.

Rating: 2.75/5 :(

unfortunely i bought this album many a years ago when i liked them, but then i discovered REAL music. yeah its your typical pop punk album, repetitive and cheesy. every songs pretty well consist of the idea ''my GF dumped woe is me "" all the songs sound the same and i bet if u sampled the drums and put it on every song u wouldn't know the diff same thing with the chord progressions all the same. For these reason i give this album a 1.5/5 and im being nice too

I agree. I used to like it when I was younger, but now that I'm older and more mature I agree it's crap. It's very poppy and has a 4th grade humor in every song.. Good review.

You could say that pretty much any band is repetitive. For example, Metallica: constantly singing about death, pain and suffering, and most (if not all) of their songs are in E.

This album is fast, happy, catchy and funny. The drums sound good (god knows why you picked out the recording quality), as does everything else on the album. The songs are well written, albeit pretty **** basic. They ain't very talented, but Travis Barker is amazing.

I give it 3.5/5

Blink is cheesy and Metallica ain't?

"Don't Leave Me" is the only real song I like here. Most of the others are terribly irritating, though, and it's a clear departure from where they were before. Not good. I agree with your rating.
