Hey ok introduction. This dc album is different to their older music in 2 ways, instead of the lyrics being about breaking up with girls and people being fake, most of the songs on this album higlight the highs of being in love (eg.as lovers go,carry this pictre, bend not break and hey girl) and there are still those songs about being fake (eg.so beautiful and if you can't leave it be might aswell make it bleed). Also in ths album dc use the band in pretty much every song which is a pleasant change.

1.hands down:A good introduction into the album. I don't like it as much as the acoustic version but the chorus is very uplifting. I think it serves as transition between dc old acoustic and dc as a band. 4/5

2.rapid hope loss:ok song, nothing special here. Good lyrics but thats about it. Standard dc stuff. 3/5

3.as lovers go:one of my favourites. the first song about being in love on the album and this one is awesome. the chorus is so beautiful and uplifting. Great lyrics and great vocals.5/5

4.carry this picture:another song about being in love. i think dc intention with these love songs is to show different aspects of being in love, here it's all about how close you get to your lover (eg.down to the edge of the water we're we'll spill our guts and we'll tell our fears). A more relaxed song then the others.4/5

5.bend not break: probably the best song on the album. another love song and the story here i think is about a guy who has trouble with girls and makes alot of mistakes and now he has finally found a girl that he is comfortable with. A very emotional song with great lyrics, vocals and surprisingly good drumming. 5/5

6.ghost of a good thing:in this song dc revert to their older stuff. it's a strong song with very emotional singing but it's not as great as the previous songs. you really have to sit down to listen to it. 3.5/5

7.am I missing?: another awesome song. i don't know what this song is about really but it's easy to listen to and the chorus is well down there's a good contrast in vocals. another strong song. 4.5/5

8.morning calls:i'm not sure about this song. it starts slow but picks up speed and climaxes at the chorus. takes a few listens to like it. 3.5/5

9.carve your heart yourself: another awesome song. a very emotional song and the lead up to the chorus really grabs you. Very good drumming in this song and the vocals are very good and ofcourse more good lyrics.5/5

10.so beautiful:a less emotional version of the swiss army romance. i liked this song alot, good vocals and lyrics and it's fun to sing along to. 4.5/5

11.hey girl: this song goes back to the love theme. here i think dc are highlighting the point in a relationship leading up to when you start dating with the girl. Great lyrics in this song. this song also highlights how good dc are as a band. more relaxed then the other songs but it's something you can relate to. 5/5

12.if you can't leave it be might aswell make it bleed: another song about being fake. i find a less emotional version of the places you've come to fear the most but it is still a very strong song. i love the outro. 5/5

13.several ways to die trying: a great way to end the album although i don't like the verses that much the chorus it what makes this song good
and it shows that dc are an awsome band.4/5

yeh a great album it's essential to anyone wwith emotions which is anyone who likes dashboard.

Recomended songs:as lovers go,bend not break, carve your heart yourself, hey girl and if you can't leave it be might aswell make it bleed

i hope this reveiw has been helpful

I can't really say that I care for Dashboard much at all, and I think that the review could be a little bit more detailed.

I never really liked Dashboard Confessional. That review was bare bones. There's also a little thing on your keyboard called 'shift'. Learn to use it.

I was being polite, and it being your first review is no excuse to not capitalize anything but the first word of the whole thing.

I love this band, I'm not quite sure why. This album was alright. 3/5.

Pretty crappy review, but keep working on it. Try reading some other reviews around the site (particularly by the top rated reviewers) to get a feel for it. Keep it up.

I smell fanboy-ism...

If you justify the 5/5 with the statement Iai quoted above... that does not really convince me

This CD is good, but deff not the best Dashboard album. There are some quality songs, Bend Not Break and Carve Your Heart Out Yourself are some of Chris' best songs, but its nothing to really write home about.

Overall 3.5/5

I'd give this nothing more than 3/5 personally...it's OK in its way I guess, but nothing much more beyond that.

decent review. this cd is moderately average, while i dont really care for the older stuff. But it does have WAAY to much to do with love. They need to ease up on it abit. Also i dont think that alot of those songs deserve a 5/5. Do you really think theyre that perfect all the way through? oh well. The only two i really like is carry this picture and ghost of a good thing.

hands down is sooo emotional. i mean the last part...after the 2nd chorus...the post chorus...WOW..."hands down, this is the best day i can, even remember...i'll always remember the sound..." that part...

This is a pretty decent album, if you can stand the melodrama and Carrabba's nasal voice which I find can be a little unbearable at times. Dashboard's acoustic stuff is much better, but the broader sound on this album is very well suited to its overall mood.

The one thing I do absolutely hate about Dashboard are the fucking fans and the way they scream along to every word at concerts (and then most usually end up crying and I'm not just stereotyping- even huge frat boys). It's just creepy and I find it no more different than some bizarre masonic cult.

From what I've heard this CD is wicked decent.

Too bad Beavis and Butthead weren't from a generation where talking about "getting some" was considered beautiful. Or do people just like Caraba's words cause he's "hot"?

Is Rapid Hope Loss about cyber sex? How beautiful.
