Album Rating: 3.5
It's very good, but no 5/5.
With the exception of This Time Imperfect, Death Of Seasons is the album's best track. And I'm pretty certain it's a cello, not a viola.
Miseria Cantare is also better than half the songs on here.
Sing The Sorrow is one of my favorite albums of all time. AFI is easily my favorite band; they have amazing vocals, and awesome instrumentalists. I HEART AFI!
Not a bad band. I like the song I have heard on the radio.
a roller coaster ride through emotion huh, mainly sorrow huh, WELL NO FREAKING DUH, LOOK AT THE NAME OF THE CD, THEY ARE A BUNCH OF EMO CRYBABIE'S HAVE YOU EVER HEARD ORIGINAL AFI PROBABLY NOT, damn gain some music sense than right a review. Then again you seem like your all about the mainstream you conforming white sheep thats all i really have to say. I could continue if you want but i think i'll take the high road and you can take the low by listening to this non-individualits music
hahaha. He just told us we were stupid for listening to "non-individualits" music. That's very open-minded and individualistic of him. Anyway, nice job on the review.
Okay album from an okay band, nothing special just run of the mill emo. I find bands like The Used and My Chemical Romance, although very different to AFI are more creative. Personal opinion though, these guys certainly aren't crap by any stretch of the imagination.
Great album from my favorite band. The review wasn't that good though, and Death of Seasons is the best song.
How old are you? 12? 13? Grow up. Why do you think I'd pay attention to someone who doesn't know how to use a period? I have all of AFI's cd's, and a few vinyls.
Like I said, grow up.
Realize people, that just because I like a song and you don't, or if you don't like this band, doesn't make it a bad review. This is my first review, and I realize it's not great, but it's not as bad as you people make it out to be.
I like Afi but Christ, this is such a fanboy review.
i like how people dont ever listen to lyrics [cough cough]tiger_macemusic[cough cough]
the review is based on your feelings about it, Will, and so people will hold it against you. try to elaborate more on what you mean with 'good' or why its something you would like to listen to.
people, if you dont like AFI, then go away. stop bashing on him. if you dont like AFI's new stuff, then dont listen to it. gosh people are stupid. comment on the review, not the band.
Oh no! Please don't call me a fanboy! Please don't! Nooooooo!!
I'm not going to go out of my way to not sound like a "fanboy" in a review I wrote out of boredom. Punk ass.
You get props, Will. Pretty much everything mentioned was the same as what I would have written. I do think, however, that ...but home is nowhere should have gotten a higher rating. The bridge in that song is so intense, I love it. This was my first AFI cd, I thought it was so good, it alone turned me into a "fanboy", so suck it Special Boy.
**** gain some music sense than right a review
To anyone who said anything bad about this CD, you suck. This was an excellent composition of music. I mean, it's hard to play as well as that. Anyone listen to "Dancing through Sunday"? The vocals are nothing short of extraordinary and the guitar solo was no novice act. Common guys, not like you're better than that or ever hope to be.
After about a year of having this cd, i dug it out again. i used to listen to it on repeat every day this spring/summer. I forgot how frickin awesome AFI really was. The lyrics are amazing and truly poetic and the sound is so unique, you can't categorize it. Its like nothing i'm used to hearing. Great album. i rate it 5/5 stars
Can't wait for their new album that's coming out this year!!
Can't wait for their new album!

Well, I got the chance to listen to this album recently, and it's good. But not much out of the ordinary.
Especially the vocals are just like with some many other bands (the name 'Senses Fail' popped into my head after the first line he sang), and some of the songs sound a bit... indifferent compared to each other. I often thought "Is this still track X, or is it already track Y...?"
Nevertheless, if you leave out the pseudo-goth image of the band, and up for some (pop)punk-like music that's good even with the flaws, it's a good album after all.
A 3.5/5 from me.
