  • laughingman22 Dead can Dance are a hard band to explain. They started out as post punk but moved to a folk/new age/world sound. They use lots of traditional instruments like sitars, yangqin, and various drums. Lisa Gerrard uses a very unique style of singing called glossolalia which does not involve any sort of lyrics. Dead can Dance influences come from European, Middle Eastern and African folk music as well as a modern darkwave style. I hope you enjoy it!

  • TMobotron Dude check out Kidcrash's album Jokes if you haven't. You were asking for jazzy skramz in the off minor thread awhile back and kidcrash doesn't quite hit the jazz side the way off minor can but they transition from heavy sections to groovy-as-hell cleans like no one else. I think you'd dig them a lot. Also it's free if you just scroll down a bit here: http://www.denovali.com/kidcrash/
