  • MistaCrave Oh no, I think that the lyrics are great. That's not the problem, it's just the instrumentation for me. But each to their own, I guess.. I'll just leave it here, because clearly nothing that I say will change your mind. I respect your opinion, man, I just really wish that you could respect mine...

  • MistaCrave Bro, not once did I trash on tech death bands. I'm saying that I personally like variety in my music and can't stand to listen to a nonstop wall of sound, consisting entirely of double bass and CHUGGACHUGGACHUGGA. And I'm not sure you what you don't understand about why I think it all sounds the same. Sure they change their riffs, but the tempo is constant. The drumming is the exact same. The riffs are only an extremely small portion of the whole, dude.

  • MistaCrave And please understand the fact that I completely respect your opinion, and I'm not saying that you aren't entitled to enjoy bands like Nile. It's just that when you come in and tell me that my opinion is "wrong," I'll be happy to defend it and explain it to you.

  • MistaCrave Ask 90% of metalheads who actually listen to bands other than the mainstream tech death bands, and I absolutely guarantee that they'll tell you how metal with varying paces is far superior to constant blast beats and chugging riffs. You say that it's bands like Nile who are pushing the boundaries of modern metal, but all they're doing is trying to play faster and more intricately than any other band out there. That, my friend, isn't what makes a metal band good.

  • MistaCrave So... You're saying that you like Nile because they play ridiculously fast and never change their sound? I honestly don't see how you can bear listening to basically the same album, slightly tweaked, over and over. "Metal should be fast. Metal should be over technical." I'm sorry to say, but these two statements could not be farther from the truth.
