  • DoofusWainwright Ah yeah, I checked the Maccabees, liked it but need to listen again cos the second half made less of an impact on me. I also listened to the Bill Wells/Moffat album, really cool that one. Never listened to Arab Strap that much so the vocals took me back to the Mogwai song he was on. Life's good right now, finally moved out into my house, living with the girlfriend's parents place for 7 months was brutal...but it did birth my sputnik obsession

  • DoofusWainwright Can't beat a bit of R.E.M. Reminds me, I've still got to check out Reckoning. I'm listening to the new Mercury Rev which is slightly embarrassing for a grown man to admit considering how twee it is but...they're my boys and I've listened to them for years. The new Ought album is quite decent if you like Talking Heads, The Fall, Pavement and Parquet Courts. I've fallen back into the habit of coming on here a fair bit again!

  • danielcardoso I'll have to get on that as soon as possible. One of my favorite vocalists of the era, and all time really, would have to be the amazing Layne Staley, yet another drug addiction victim. Vedder is still up there, alive and kicking too.
