Burial Top 10 Explained

My personal choice of burials best 10 and why. wub wub
10Burial
Untrue

Raver - Another underrated gem. Its a bit different than his other material, but it works. For me there is incredible atmosphere to this tracks. The thing for me is how well the guy understands how to employ a vocal sample. His backdrop and musical heritage in dark electro and early jungle is pretty clear when you think of the way he employs vocal loops, and little snippets that seem to ooze soul.
9Burial
Street Halo

Stolen Dog - Subtle and eerie. I remember listening to this while jogging during nighttime and it struck me that if ghosts ever exist, I surely want them to make those fleeting cries.
8Burial
Kindred

Loner - "Loner" makes you take the last bus to an abandoned playground somewhere in outskirts of city and search for some rusty needles. Other than that I heard "Loner" start to play in Elysium, I damn near jumped out of my chair in excitement. Never thought I would hear a Burial track in a film.
7Burial
Untrue

Etched Headplate - What I love about this is the Auto-tune sample effect that make's it sound like different words are being spoken. He'll often take a certain part of the vocal, and transfer the octave down one note - clever work. Ingenius indeed.
6Burial
Untrue

Near Dark - A name that perfectly fits the song. This sound way better at dawn.
5Burial
Untrue

Archangel - The first song I heard from burial and a timeless classic of his. Again, features everything that makes burial stand above the majority of garage/2-step artists.
4Burial
Untrue

Ghost Hardware - Fun fact. This song envelopes every fibre of my being and allows me to transcend my daily existence.
3Burial
Rival Dealer

Come Down To Us - I was surprised the this a lot. While I have a short attention span and im not a huge fan of his longer tracks, this is pure bliss.
2 Burial
5: Five Years of Hyperdub

Fostercare - burials most underrated and likely to pass under radars. the darker "fostercare" is leaning much more towards the ambient side of burials music, having a really dark feel to it. I dont really consider his music to be sad, but this is the closest it gets.
1Burial
Untrue

Untrue - Haunting and beautiful. Captures everything that makes "burial" great - strong beats, mellow samling, eerie ambiance and strangely nostalgic and melancholic feel. If anyone would ask me to introduce them to this artist, without hesitation show this gem. Other than that, I remember playing this on loop while having a subway ride and its great for that purpouse.
