got like one more week of college. It's been rough, especially since I have no real plans other than just going back home. I'm getting a bachelor's in philosophy, which I'm probably going to end up regretting (I already do to be honest). This semester I kinda slacked off and didn't really hang out with friends or anything, just wasted time by myself. So I'm hoping to get a job this summer and get some sort of routine going. Anyways, here's some albums I've been loving recently, kinda representative of some of the highs and lows this past semester. | 1 | | Daughters You Won't Get What You Want
Finally listened to this like two days ago when I was in a poor mood after seeing the play A Doll's House by Ibsen. It's a depressing play. | 2 | | Holy Fawn Death Spells
One night I binged on food and couldn't fall asleep and just listened to this album on repeat. It's pretty enthralling. | 3 | | The Story So Far Proper Dose
Pretty relatable when it comes to struggling with self-control and being invested in relationships and whatnot. | 4 | | Elliott Smith Roman Candle | 5 | | Gas Pop
Good for studying/zoning. | 6 | | German Error Message Mend
Moody, existential lyrics. Good stuff. | 7 | | Copeland Blushing
Earlier on I listened to this a ton when I would get home exhausted and just want to fall asleep. It's a beautiful album. Recently though I haven't been very interested in music about love and stuff... | 8 | | This Will Destroy You Tunnel Blanket
I usually put this on when people are talking too loud in the library. It's also beautiful. | 9 | | American Football American Football
Finally listened to this. Haven't listened to it a ton though, I probably will come back to it this summer. | 10 | | mewithoutYou [untitled]
Listened to this a lot earlier in the semester, saw them live. Wouldn't turn to this for emotional comfort/escapism though, haha. | 11 | | Laura Veirs Carbon Glacier
Nice album before bed. | 12 | | Diane Cluck Oh Vanille Ova Nil
Some beautiful, unique, weird stuff. I'm gonna keep coming back to this. Helps me to be more optimistic and keep my eyes open for beauty and things to be thankful for. | 13 | | The Oh Hellos Notos
Been listening to Notos and Eurus recently. Kinda repetitive but the lyrics seem cool and worth looking into more. Definitely can relate to some of what this band is about usually. | |

04.29.19 | I feel you. Didn't get into grad school this time around so I've been sending out job apps and thinking of ways to spend the year before I try again. Good news is a friend of mine needs a roommate while he finishes his last year so I can move in with him until then. Shits bittersweet tho. I wanna be done with this place but I don't want to leave all the friends I've made. | StrikeOfTheBeast
04.29.19 | Honestly graduating college wasn't as rewarding as I expected it to be. I studied psychology which was cool, but the demand for it isn't as high for it as people would would think, at least around my area. Getting a decent job and starting up a band was far easier tbh | bloc
04.29.19 | Regardless of what field you graduate in, the few months after graduating from college/uni almost always suck. It's the time when reality kicks in and you need to go out on your own and find something to do (i.e. find a job related to your field/find a job you like). This can come easy or it can be really difficult. Personally, it was a big struggle but now the hard work is paying off. Best of luck to you. | unclereich
04.29.19 | im going into law enforcement which has little to do with my degree. getting that degree was my dream though and i am happy to say i kicked ass in college. | garas
04.29.19 | A bachelor's degree in philosophy sounds pretty cool - does it make you a philosopher? And don't say that you're already regretting it, just be proud! I can somehow relate about plans - I'm doin' my master degree in biology and I have no concrete plan about what comes later. But, hey staying postive can help a lot everyday! Best of luck to you! | Ambrosian
04.29.19 | Sounds like we're in the same boat dude hope it goes well for ya | Friday13th
04.29.19 | Congrats, I'm graduating too this week.
sorry ignore the rest of my brief post I thought you said something else XD
good day to celebrate | nightbringer
04.29.19 | Don't regret philosophy! It's the best subject :] | solongatlast
04.29.19 | Thanks for the responses.
Yeah, philosophy has been fun, but the job prospects...
garas, nope, I'm definitely not a philosopher. I know some random facts and have a surface-level familiarity with a few figures you could easily learn about by watching youtube videos, so there's that. | nightbringer
04.29.19 | Who needs a job when you can contemplate the forms? | Relinquished
04.29.19 | contemplating the bankruptcy forms
jk dude good luck and don't be down about the people that were around, be excited for where you're headed down your own path | Nerdurosis
04.29.19 | Congrats man. I am too. It feels amazing to say the least. Can't wait for it to be done. BS in Economics. Sadly, I have no money saved up so it looks like I'm back at my parents as well for who knows how long....rip |
