DrMaximus
10.03.15 | "feature this, there's a lot of good stuff on here. almost as good as the top btbam songs list"
How insulting |
Ryus
10.03.15 | ya that btbam list was way better |
Cygnatti
10.03.15 | I must admit, they're right tho :/ |
TheWrenKing
10.03.15 | fantastique

squaaab
10.04.15 | now this is a list |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | Ur to(o) (be) kind :D |
Trundle
10.04.15 | lice nist |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | Just for you, babe. ;)
The list gravely needed more metal, and what better choice than that one! |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | Yeah. I had em wish listed in the past, haven't heard much of it so I'm not quite sure what to think of it. Tho I am a bit surprised you dug it! ^_^ |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | Btw, the vocal work / use of samples on 10 remind me quite a bit of PE, you might be interested :3
He'll even the whole ideologies and somewhat hammy tendencies do as well. It's very old school industrial, but I think it's very forward thinking for its time. |
Gwyn.
10.04.15 | luv u cyg |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | It's good that you do. Everybody's gotta have an album close to them like it imo. |
DrMaximus
10.04.15 | You can trust Cyg's use of the term industrial :] |
Gwyn.
10.04.15 | These tags look lifted straight from rym and if rym is good for one thing it's genre tagging |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | Eww eww no, dude I listened to power electronics before I even listened to a single post-industrial album, not including nine inch nails (the only one really), but including marilyn Manson. Hell I heard 2nd annual report before downward spiral still. X.x |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | I spend a lot of time on rym tagging things... Including every single one of these albums. The tagging for 2 was very very different (and very fuckin wrong) before I came around |
Gwyn.
10.04.15 | Oh yea it was bad before but the past couple of years it has been pretty on point, not perfect but I can't think of any other music cataloguing site that does it better |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
10.04.15 | out of what i havent heard on here the only thing that really interests me is that deaux filles
anything else u think i would like? |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | Yeah. They do a really good job in general. BUT they can't tag emo-pop right worth fuckin shit fuckin fuck >:/ |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | Pots, I'd think you'd appreciate 5 and 17 more than almost anyone else on this site tbh. Which is sad. :/
I'm pretty sure you alread heard 22, 31, and 33... Idk how you like your prog but 7 is old school and more esoteric than other 70s variety, without getting too wanky imo. I also think you'd dig 49 as we'll. |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
10.04.15 | well yeah, horace andy...
havent heard that particular alb tho. ill check both of those
havent heard 22 but 31 and 33 yeah
probably will pass on 7 and 49 tho, havent been in much of a prog or psych rock kind of mood lately |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | Welp, can't blame ya tho. I'm generally always down for psych rock tho. Prog is much more hit or miss obvs. Anyways, I hope ya dig the others. :] |
JamieTwort
10.04.15 | Prefer Sirio 2222 to Ys.
RPI as a genre/scene has never been my jam but Sirio is a solid psych album. |
RadicalEd
10.04.15 | Just checked 16 and it is legit amazing. |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | Ahh cool. Didn't know they had a psych album, erryone knows I loves psych espesh when compared to prog so I may have to get my hands on it.
And very nice, ed, dude. Honestly have no clue who would or wouldn't dig that one so this is a pleasant surprise. ^_^ |
theBoneyKing
10.04.15 | If I don't check 16 soon I'll probably forget about it so putting it on my list for the week cause I'm sure I'll dig. :] |
Ryus
10.04.15 | 49 is delicious |
RadicalEd
10.04.15 | @ cyg. I'm definitely into this americana-aesthetic they've got going on. Also I like Folk that's not just a whiny guy with an acoustic guitar. (Except sometimes I like whiny guys with acoustic guitars) |
adr
10.04.15 | sweet list dude, prob will check 32, 43 and 49 < 3 |
Cygnatti
10.04.15 | Good choices adr, I can already tell ya that you'd dig all 3, hopefully by a ton. 32 is brutal as all fuck. And 49 has legitly one of the greatest opening tracks I've ever heard. |
SmileNerd
10.05.15 | Bookmarked list; will jam later. |
Keyblade
10.05.15 | whew missed this list
28 looks good as hell |
Cygnatti
10.05.15 | Nice dude, you'd probs dig quite a few of these actually. |
ShitsofRain
10.05.15 | sweet, dude!!!! |
emester
10.05.15 | 21 is the absolute tits |
evilford
10.05.15 | 29 rules, brutal death sux in general but how is 11? |
Gwyn.
10.05.15 | pretty nasty colombian death metal with a lot of weird riffs and it's great |
evilford
10.05.15 | wow it's pretty bad |
evilford
10.05.15 | not terrible I guess but far from good |
Cygnatti
10.05.15 | But brutal death is like the only good kind of death...!? |
evilford
10.05.15 | lolo |
emester
10.05.15 | Good one |
adr
10.05.15 | cyg pls |
Cygnatti
10.05.15 | ;) |
theBoneyKing
10.05.15 | So 16 is awesome, title track especially. |
Mystletainn
10.05.15 | So how good is 40/41? |
Cygnatti
10.05.15 | 41 is fast-paced instrumental surf punk with very tight songwriting. The jagged post punk tendencies are very welcome and provide a somewhat sinister, premeditated contrast to most surf music's feel-good, and spontaneous nature. One of my favorites from 2014 actually. |
theBoneyKing
10.05.15 | Wait just realizing Sturgill Simpson isn't on this list, I'm disappointed Cyg |
Cygnatti
10.05.15 | Well maybe I was saving for the next list! X_x |
Ashen
10.05.15 | i think "instrumental surf punk" is my favorite phrase i have read today |
Cygnatti
10.06.15 | Well it's surfy, punk-ish, and there are absolutely no vocals on it so... ;) |
theBoneyKing
10.06.15 | @Cyg: Don't disappoint me next time |
Ashen
10.06.15 | it's an honest description. i just very rarely see those three words used together in conjunction lol
good album though btw |
Cygnatti
10.06.15 | ;] |
TheSpaceMan
10.06.15 | I don't think I can handle these |
Cygnatti
10.06.15 | sure you can! try some of these:
31 is some wicked voodoo psych folk typa shit, super catchy and somehow heavy on the feels too.
33 is supreme classic heavy psych, sometimes described as the black sabbath of japan, which is pretty apt imo. satori often borders on being "heavy metal".
34 is probably more akin to what you're used to. they happened right amidst the shoegaze/neo-psych explosion of the 90s, but these guys are a bit more esoteric and harsher than many of their peers.
at least give these a shot, personally i think you'd like a few more than just these but we'll see i guess. ^_^ |
DrMaximus
10.06.15 | Yeah like 47 |
Cygnatti
10.06.15 | idk bout that one. it's pretty heavy and dank, not many can handel it tbh x_x |
DrMaximus
10.06.15 | True. Sometimes I can't listen to it cause the feels are too strong :/ |
Hovse
10.09.15 | im down to check 7 does it sound anything like renaissance?
12 looks interesting will def check
very good list man |
Cygnatti
10.09.15 | i wouldn't say particularly so ;/ i'd say it's more akin to genesis and elp. but i'm not at all a 70s prog buff so i can't tell ya for sure. |
Hovse
10.09.15 | i hope they sound like genesis more than elp
bookmarked. |
TwigTW
10.10.15 | Nice to see Merle Haggard on here . . . I really loved 5 & 12. 27 is interesting too--can't believe it was released in '82. Looking forward to 7, 8, and 22. |
