I haven't really read into it a whole lot (maybe it is a reboot), I just played the demo when it went live and really enjoyed it. |

That's probably why they've changed Dante in every DMC game. But the whole, dark, cropped do is a bit much. I don't buy into the whole "Western take on the franchise" excuse, either. It'd be like taking Link and giving him black hair and a beard and saying, "We just want to explore the roots of the Zelda franchise from a different perspective."
I'm sure the gameplay will be at least decent, given how good Heavenly Sword's was, but if it doesn't feel like a Devil May Cry game, then there's no reason to affix the title where it doesn't belong. |

I get that. I've played the series quite a bit and the demo for this one felt pretty good. Ninja Theory makes some pretty quality stuff (Heavenly Sword, Enslaved) and I think (hope) they will do right by the DMC games.
Capcom turned Resident Evil 6 and Dead Rising 2 over to out-of-house developers as well, so it's not like this is a thing they are only doing with DMC. I've heard pretty mixed things about RE 6 (haven't played it yet), but I did enjoy Dead Rising 2. |
